NBA Suspends Kevin Love 2 Games for Stepping on Luis Scola’s Face

The NBA answered a question we posed this morning. Kevin Love has indeed been suspended for stepping on Luis Scola’s grill. From the Houston Chronicle: “The NBA struck back on Monday, hitting Timberwolves forward Kevin Love with a two-game suspension for ‘driving his foot into the upper body and face’ of Rockets forward Luis Scola Saturday in Minneapolis. Love will miss games Tuesday against the Kings at Target Center and Wednesday in Memphis.”

Aye…I’m not defending Bynum’s actions and unlike you, not downplaying it. I wonder if you and most of the comments I’ve seen on the net would be defending love with such passion if the guy was from a different background.

    When in doubt call racism.

Bynum got what, 5 for that forearm shiver on Barea? He ended up sitting out four. Love should have gotten at least 3, imo. But Bynum was a repeat offender–he had been doing that forearm cheapshot for a LONG time before he was finally suspended.

Anyone who thinks Kevin Love stepped on another man’s f*cking face by accident is seriously deluded.

@ Lakeshow: Were you watching the game live when it happened? Youtube videos and subsequent replays don’t actually show the entire line of action. Love rips at Scola’s arms, throwing him to the ground, and then pauses, and then takes a step on his FACE. I mean seriously… If you’re gonna make a point do what Iverson did and step OVER him. And if you must stomp, do it away from the face. Have some stomping decency.

Why not? It still plays a big role in today’s world.

jtaylor: I think you are missing a big part of the equation here in terms of the majority of comments you are reacting to: It was an AMERICAN player stomping a NON-American player. Don’t underestimate the xenophobe-ish aspect to this act in order to focus on another form of equally heinous (and eminantly relateable) discrimination.

most of the yahoos think Argentina is in Europe for f k’s sake.

    *eminently

It does Jtaylor but not in this case i dont think, not for me anyway, maybe for you it is though. I just dont see stepping on someone as that bad in terms of the potential for injury compared to say Bynum smashing JJ. Its not like he stomped the motherf*cker out, he stepped on him, and imo if you look at it he does pause and see Scola then Lifts his foot about the smae time Scola raises his arms a bit so its about 80/20 it was accidental for mine. 20percent chance its an accident.

Ive seen dirty plays in many pick up games sh!t I used to have a move called the porkchop sorta like an elbow high drop step I learned from watchin Franchise (R.I.P.), sh!t i got my eyebrow split in a league game at the 4th, got that sh!t butterflied and still made the free throws, but stepping on someone is a bit much , I should know I once stepped on this dope fiend because he kept stumblin on the court. and once he referenced getting hit in the b@llz you gotta see he meant to do it. Other than that I hate flopping with a passion (the resaon I hate Ben Wallace soooo much) and Bynum is a dirty player and has been for a minute now. and no blood no foul is a creedo many people just dont understand anymore; I wasnt tryin to call you out by asking where you play I was just curious cause I’ve played on some rough courts never seen a stomp on a downed player, seen a bum get hit in the head with a milk crate over a rock, so I was just curious…. because since I moved out west “contact” is a foreign concept

sorry for the double post, phone is actin stupid

  • jacuuli

He should have never thrown the basketball at Love’s nuts the game before or so

  • Charles Breen

I honestly think he did it in accident

He could of tried to avoid him. I’ve been caught up in the heat of battle, but I’d never do that to another man. It was wrong. What he did deserves 5 games minimum.

    Linsanity!!!

Step in the name of Love. Step in the name of Lo-o-ove.
STEP IN THE NAME OF LOVE

Everybody downplaying this just shut up. Since when has kicking somebody in the face when they’re down been considered a rough physical play? That’s just cheap.

  • Justin G.

Wow Lakeshow, you are really looking like a fool here. The “Much worse, dirtier, plays are made by NBA players nightly” line is laughable. If that were true guys would be getting suspended every night. And @stlheatmaniac…I wonder if you realize how much of an idiot you come across as with your unreadable ebonics posts. Anyone who writes “dis” or “dat” or “wit dat” shouldn’t be allowed near a typewriter. As for the suspension, two games is enough I guess but I would have rather seen 3 or 4. That crap has no place in basketball no matter what someone has done to you during the game or in past games
