Nicolas Batum Day-to-Day With Knee Contusion

The MRI on Nicolas Batum‘s injured left knee delivered relatively good news, as Batum had feared for the absolute worst. He’s listed as day-to-day with a knee contusion. From CSNNW: “MRI confirms Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum has a left knee bone contusion. Batum will be out for Wednesday’s matchup against the Charlotte Bobcats. He’s listed day-to-day and will be re-evaluated later this week. Batum spoke with reporters and said he’ll be reevaluated [Wednesday] morning and that he’s planning on missing the Charlotte and Sacramento game. He says he doesn’t want to take any risks. ‘I was scared when it first happened. I thought my career was over Batum said. ‘I’m glad that it wasn’t anything serious, but if I was asked to play today, I couldn’t.’ Batum injured his knee with 19 seconds left in the game against the Utah Jazz while attempting to turn the corner on Jazz’s C.J. Miles. He would be helped off the court and taken to the locker room. He would not return to the game. ‘I woke up in the morning and it was a little swollen,’ Batum said. ‘The pain is like it was last night. It feels the same. I’m just glad it’s good.'”
