Report: Clippers to Sign Bobby Simmons

Former NBA player and current D-Leaguer Bobby Simmons will be finding his way back to the L, ESPN reports, in the form of a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. Some details: “A second stint with the Los Angeles Clippers awaits for 2004-05 NBA Most Improved Player award winner Bobby Simmons. The Clippers are planning to sign Simmons out of the D-League to a 10-day contract after the All-Star break, according to sources close to the situation. Simmons, 31, is averaging 13.5 points and 7.6 rebounds for the D-League’s Reno Bighorns. He last played in the NBA during the 2010-11 season, appearing in just two games with San Antonio. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound swingman’s greatest NBA success came with the Clippers in 2004-05, when he averaged 16.4 points and 5.9 rebounds to earn Most Improved honors.”

Gerald Green can play, kid is only 26 and tearing up the d league, would be more than serviceable in the L , don’t know why teams are not looking at him, does a team own his rights?

I bet you MJ is pissed about this move

It’s a 10 day contract. Probably just another body to use in practice. They still have 2 trade exceptions so they might be able to pick up a salary dump before the trade deadline.
