Report: Rasheed Wallace to Sign with Lakers

When Rasheed Wallace was ejected during Game 7 of the 2010 Finals, many believed that was Sheed’s final NBA game. Well, it’s not. From CSN New England, reportedly, Rasheed Wallace is back: “CSNNE.com has learned that the former Boston Celtic forward plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. [...] “His days as a starter in this league are gone,’ said the source. ‘I think he knows that, and so do the Lakers. But think about it. Of the big men that are available, is there one that’s really better? And if he’s gotten himself in shape, adding him becomes a huge get for them.’”

Idk how sure this is, but i read somewhere they r working on a 3 team trade. Lakers, Magic and Timberwolves. Lakers get Dwight Howard, JJ Barea, Michael Beasley. Magic get Andrew Bynum and Derrick Williams. Timberwolves get Pau Gasol….hmm

    ^A good trade.
    Magic:
    Jameer, JRich, Derrick, Ryan, Bynum
    Lakers:
    Barea, Kobe, Beasley, Sheed, Dwight
    Wolves:
    Rubio, Ridnour, Webster, Love, Pau

    BALL DONT LIE !!
    yea …
good to have him back playin

It would be great to see Pau and Rubio together, but the Twolves would be giving up so much youth to get it done. Pau isn’t young anymore and has an expensive contract.

at this point, I don`t understand why any team would want to trade for bynum. do you really want a 24, 25 year-old player with major knee problems – who needs injections in order to continue playing? it`s yao ming all over again. either orlando needs to work a deal to land dwill or renew serious trades talk with nj and take lopez and hopefully marshon brooks. Then after that blow the rest of the team up because they`re not going anywhere with nelson, jrich, anderson, and hedo who are all skittish, streaky offensive players with no defensive to back it up.

  • http://www.optimabbc.be Max

Will he lead the L in T’s?

  • Lan

Slow Ball?! Will there be a showtime?

  • anynomous

how anyone could realistically think that this acquisition is going to improve the lakers, is beyond me.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Will Rasheed do a stint in the D-League first? Or is that just Iverson who has to do that? lol

  • BostonBaller

This turns my stomach!!!! LOL. Sheed is the man and will probably be a huge addition to them. It will be funny to read Laker fans comments about how nice he is and how his age is viewed as veteran leadership instead of old and dead…When he was in Boston I loved having him and so will Laker fans if they get him. “Why can’t we get players like that?” lol

  • TOMGUGLIOTA

Why not sign Sam Perkins while you are at it Jim Buss. I also hear that Antoine Walker is tearing it up in the D-League!

  • vtrobot

SHEEEEEEED! not THAT team, man. that’s one Wallace jersey that I won’t ever want. agree with everyone who’s seeing Sheed when they see Wilcox in a C’s jersey.

  • anynomous

I am very curious to see if rasheed will do a stint in the d-league before playing with the lakers, i.e. what the lakers suggested that AI do over the summer. rasheed is in the same boat as AI fitness wise and maybe even worse, so this is the ultimate test for whether or not the league has any bias towards Iverson. If rasheed goes to the d-league until he`s ready then the nba will pass, but if he comes straight out of retirement to the lakers then “something truly is rotten in the state of Denmark.”

  • Big Marv

Can I order my jersey….Thank you for making the NBA a little more interesting…..

  • sheedfan

Yes, Sheed is back in the L!

  • jamama

seriously, this is a ridiculous decision. the Lakers need some serious help, not another old guy (and i did like R back in the day!)

  • http://www.nba.com Alf

    Ball don’t lie!

  • http://slamonline.com Jones

Knew Sheed wasn’t done. You don’t go from 30+ minutes in game seven to retiring. Sheed would def be an upgrade over Troy Murphy and McBob so can’t see how it would hurt the Lakers to get him for the vet’s minimum.

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

    Sheed at the point?

  • DerekG

Since the Lakers are looking for geriatric help they should look into Tim Hardaway as Fisher’s back up! He looked good in the celebrity game! *hehehehe*

  • kobesBESTfriend

So u trade Odom 4 beans and now this???smh

  • Joe

Now they should trade for Beas…Sheed would be a good mentor for him

  • espnfanatic1

Sheed what a waste! Jim Buss is useless we need a point guard not a washed up forward we already have several of those on the roster. Oh we also need a new front office.

  • thomas

How in the world bill Walton thinks Rasheed Wallace would have let some no good weakling like him punch him–in any way shape or form, is totally ridiculous. First, of all, Rasheed is bigger. Second, Rasheed is meaner. Third Rasheed is tougher. Fourth, and foremost, Rasheed earned, what Walton, in the same league, was handed to him, via his surrounding team, who let him come in from the bench. Oh yeah there is another reason why walton would nt last in a fight with Rasheed, but …..

  • Nigel

    So………?

  • Big Marv

    Still waiting on Sheed……

  • alex80
