Sixers Send Craig Brackins to D-League

by Tzvi Twersky | @ttwersky

The Sixers have decided to assign Craig Brackins to the Maine Red Claws of the D-League, sources within the organization say.

Brackins, the 21st overall selection in the 2010 NBA Draft, has struggled to get on the court this year after an off-season switch from power forward to small forward. He’s appeared in eight games, posting averages of 3.4 minutes and 0.6 points.

Brackins appeared in three games as a rookie last season. He also appeared in 18 games as a member of the D-League’s Springfield Armor, where he averaged 20.1 ppg and 8.6 rpg.

Brackins will report to the Red Claws, Philadelphia’s D-League affiliate, Tuesday.

There is no timetable set for his return.

There’s just no room for him to play. When Speights was traded there was speculation he’d get some time, but LaVoy Allen came in and played the role better.

Brackins became an all-star in my 2K12 ‘my player’ mode.. in his 5th year. Odd. Best of luck in the D-League Craig, all the best!
