Chris Bosh Has Conversations With Himself During Games

So, apparently, one of the keys to the Miami Heat’s victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday was communication. Communication between Chris Bosh and, um, Chris Bosh. From Fox Sports: “You see, the Miami forward speaks to himself during games. And one of the apparent problems during his recent slump was he hadn’t been chattering enough. ‘Somebody said I wasn’t talking to myself when we played in Chicago,’ Bosh said, referring to Wednesday’s loss and his disastrous 3-of-15 shooting. So it was Chatty Chris on display in Sunday’s 91-81 win over Orlando at AmericanAirlines Arena. He listened to what he was saying, scoring 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting. ‘I have conversations all day in a non-crazy way,’ Bosh said. As it turns out, this talking to oneself isn’t confined to Bosh. Dwyane Wade also admits doing it, and he also heeded his words Sunday, scoring a game-high 31 points. He had 18 in the second half, including 14 in the fourth quarter, after Bosh had ruled the first half with 18. ‘I get it because I talk to myself sometimes,’ Wade said of Bosh. ‘But he’s a little more disrespectful himself. But I… love it when he’s talking to himself because that means he’s into it.’ Wade wouldn’t give examples of what came out of Bosh’s mouth, saying it involved ‘cussing’ and that it’s a ‘little weird.’ Bosh provided the clean version, saying he was telling himself things such as ‘just get going’ and ‘good shot.’ So Bosh also compliments himself at times during games. Whatever he’s uttering, Miami forward LeBron James said he’s ‘not saying it quietly.’ All of this talking is fine with his teammates if it helps Bosh’s game. Since missing three games to attend his grandmother’s funeral, Bosh had been mostly pedestrian in the previous six, averaging 14.5 points while shooting 41.5 percent.”

Funny but last night he was good. I wish his teammates keep feeding him in 2nd half

  • Captain Obvious

This is just fantastic isn’t it

it’s called getting yourself going. Bosh had a lot of good first half and then James and Wade decide not to give him the ball the second half.

So… KG talks to himself OFF the court.

Here’s the thing with Chris Bosh: he could be the loveliest guy in the world, and I’d still hate him just because of the way the Heat arena announcer says his name

If he’d grow a pair he could talk sh!t to other people, I’m telling you his heart pumps fabric softner, it wasnt him not talking to himself against the Bulls it was the Bulls front line scaring his candy a$$, they play to physical for him….don’t mind me just bitter about last years finals, with Lebron having his breakdown, that was Bosh’s time to step up and fumbled pass after fumbled pass after fumbled pass…..

Most success people practice some form of self-talk. As long as it is positive, it enhances your belief in your abilities and makes you more productive (depending on what you say).

Looking at the Heat roster, talking to himself is probably the most intelligent conversation he has.

@ Bike: isn’t that what LeBron says to himself at the start of every 4th quarter?

i back FnF . Bosh is brand new + K G argues with himself. People do all sorts of $hit to motivate themselves. Whateva works.

  • Jslimfast

Will who else is going to motivate him? Lebron? Wade? The Fans?

hes not helpin his rep by admitting he talks to himself

  • Hugh Jass

Karl Malone used to have a chat with himself before every free throw. It’s nothing new.

  • Mike from Spain

what’s the big difference between thinking ‘good shot’ or ‘Ima f**** him up if he attacks the rim’ and saying it aloud?
