Jared Jeffries Out At Least Two Weeks

Though they’ve been playing well as of late, the Knicks tend to lean on their bench when the starters just aren’t getting the job done. Unfortunately, that bench will be without a pretty key figure over the next few weeks: reserve forward Jared Jeffries, who will miss some time with a right knee inflammation. Newsday has more: “The Knicks will be without valuable reserve Jared Jeffries for at least the next two weeks. An MRI Saturday revealed inflammation in his right knee, which was repaired last summer and has bothered him throughout this season. ‘We just got to take it a day at a time and welcome him back when he’s healthy,’ Mike Woodson said. ‘A good, healthy Jared is great for our ballclub because he does a lot of things to anchor our bench defensively.’ Jeffries injured the knee Wednesday in Philadelphia. He said it ‘buckled,’ and when he got up, he walked right into the locker room. He missed four games earlier this month with right knee soreness. The Knicks have struggled defensively when Jeffries has been out. They lost the previous five games Jeffries missed before Saturday night, giving up 108.6 points in those games.”
