Raptors Trade Leandro Barbosa To Pacers


Yahoo! is reporting that Leandro Barbosa and his expiring contract will be joining Darren Collison and George Hill in the Pacers’ backcourt. Seems a bit crowded… Could Darren Collison be part of another deal?     Great move for the Pacers, Raptors don’t benefit much. Shed some salary this year and a low 2nd round pick. Barbosa won’t be there the last twenty games to generate the little offense they have going, tank nation.

    Stupid by the raptors imo..barbosa is a strong scorer..bulls could have used him..

    They definitely could have gotten a last 1st back, maybe even mid. They wouldve had to taken a contract back by doing so, I think Colangelo has another move lined up.. Wilson Chandler sign and trade anybody?

    I’m pretty sure BC exercised all possible scenarios before coming up with the trade. Think about it, everyone is so hyped about the 2012 draft class, it’s not going to be easy to give it away. The Lakers wouldn’t even give up their first round pick for Ramon Sessions. But I digress, hopefully we can at least flip our 2 second round picks for a first rounder. And hopefully with this trade we can get a top 3 pick. Tank City on the come up! lol

    @Shem, I believe Wilson Chandler’s deadline to sign to another team has already passed. He can only sign with Denver now, but if he doesn’t get the deal he wants, I hear he might just play in Italy.

    @niQ I know the deadline passed but I was thinking they sign him and then trade him. We would probably take back Birdman’s contract if that were to happen.

    Nice scoring punch. They can play Hill and Barbosa together now, and sit AJ Price.
    Both Hill and Barbosa can get buckets from the wing, plus you have Hansbrough off the bench too. They could have used a back up three or big two though.

    I love it. We’re declaring that the season is over, and we’ll move up a few spots in the lottery. Everyone knows that the NBA is a star-driven league, and we’re going for our star. All that’s left is for Bargnani to “re-strain” his calf, and we’re top 3 guaranteed! And then, we get TWO lottery picks (Jo-NAS!) into the fold next year, plus great cap space. Only a (true/delusional) Raptors fans could be so happy to see this trade happen right now!!

    how long can the raptors keep “rebuilding”? i liked the Brazilian Blur on that team because he added that extra bench presence that is desserate in TDot. the raptors are young as is so why give him up for a 2nd round pick? i understand that the draft is supposed to be stacked next year but at least get a late first rounder…

    You can’t at least get a 1st rounder, put yourself in the shoes of the team giving up the 1st rounder. In a very good draft is giving up a 1st rounder worth a 20 game rental and the playoffs? Barbosa will leave Indiana after the season. The only way the could’ve gotten a 1st rounder would be by taking salary back ie. Luke Walton and 1st rounder. The Raptors just made about 15 million of cap space to play with in a trade. Not only did they dump this 7.5 million but they got a 7.5 million trade exception.
