Warriors Trade Monta Ellis to Bucks for Andrew Bogut, Stephen Jackson

And trade season is officially here. Yahoo!‘s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Warriors will be shipping Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown to Milwaukee in exchange for Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson. So it begins.

will be very interesting to see how Brandon and Monta gel together. As of right now they are very similar players. Adding Monta to the roster woould however put extra pressure on Brandon to become a pure PG….kinda like the push…not sure if this will work out though

I could see monta and brandon forming a 1-2 punch similar to bill ups and cp3 in los angeles. Illyasova is a solid piece at three. The bucks have a very weak front court as of now. id be surprised if they didn’t make a move to acquire a big man or picks to draft one.

@Megatron, Ya I Remember Valacunis Is Coming Over But Even Adding A Piece Like Drummond With Him Would Be A Nice Solid 4-5 Frontcourt And Would And Bolster Our Defence To A New Level :) Trade Calderon For A Draft Pick.. If We Can Possibly Either Barnes Or Perry Jones And Suddenly Raptors Could Be A Team To Watch Shockingly. But I Know Its Wishful Thinking o.O (yn)

the Jennings/Ellis combo is for sure interesting.. and inefficient.
    i can’t believe Tadone’s comment @ 11:20.
    Drew F***ing Gooden?!?!?!?!
I’ve seen enough of this dude in his Cavs years. Udoh would get absolutely nothing from him.

YOOOOOOO Curry gets the ball more now and Jackson is back in town, plus Kwame’s gone which is also nice. Go Warriors!!

  • Rainman

“the Bucks are now what the warriors before the trade” The Warriors before the trade were good enough to make the playoffs in the east lol, so i think starting next season, they’re playoff contenders

The Bucks were a playoff team before Bogut went down. If he was healthy they wouldn’t have done the trade.

J, I know it’s a stretch but Drew Gooden actually has a pretty decent offensive repertoire. He just doesn’t play hard all the time. I also think the Bucks may be moving Brandon Jennings. Him and Monta together just doesn’t feel right.

This trade makes no sense. I thought Golden State’s front office hated S-Jack? I see more mves coming from both teams.

  • Holiday

Bad trade for GS??? I think this makes the Warriors a playoff team if healthy. Two guys that will rebound and score down low in Lee and Bogut, plus two guys that are dangerous shooters!

  • IggI

This trade sucks, makes no sense. It’s so hard to being a Warrios fan right now!!!

monta and jennings will be hilarious and maybe terrible, but definitely must see . personally I think monta and steph would’ve worked out fine if they ever got a good shot blocking big.

then here’s a question? for which team was the trade best for? Bucks, Warriors or both equally?

  • Holiday

Sounds like Golden State fans are more content with a flashy, exciting star than having a playoff team!

  • Karamazov

Actually it makes sense if you remember that Jennings was also willing to test other markets. It’s safe to say now that the Bucks have no future plans with Jennings.

holiday, the warriors with our flashy monta ellis were 3 games behind the 8 seed.
vancitybball, on short term, the trade is obviously better for the bucks. long term though, only time will tell.

also, don’t sleep on monta’s ability to move and be effective without the ball. he’s also a very willing passer.

@ BETCATS, Of course you’re interested in seeing that BETCATS you gaybo…

Hey does anyone know if this is the first time ever in the NBA that a team has both two of the previous week’s players of the week? Now that the Bucks got both Ilyasova and Ellis, I was just curious.

  • Mike From Spain

This would look like Jennings to the Lakers, if not for the fact that he’s on a rookie scale contract… let’s wait and see.

  • L Dribble

    @abaci Jennings for Pau?

  • NbaNW8

    This isnt about to work.

  • http://www.slamonline.com aman from arkansas

Bad trade here. The Bucks should trade Jennings for Pau Gasol.

  • abaci

@L Dribble probably have to have other parts involved

  • http://slamonline.com Jones

Who do see in the playoffs, Bucks or Knicks? The Bucks are a bizarre team that seems to do much better after they make a trade (see John Salmons trade) and the Bucks actually play D under Scott Skilles so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Bucks get the 8 spot.

I hear GS wants to trade S. Jax. Lol

  • Timmer

I don’t get this trade. Ellis/Curry backcourt was never going to work so they trade Ellis. But Curry is never healthy. They trade their best player/Ellis, for a center who is injury prone, who probably won’t even play this year. Who will the Warriors start when Curry/Bogut are both out with injuries in future seasons. Makes no sense to me.
