Rudy Fernandez to Have Season-Ending Back Surgery

The Denver Nuggets announced that Fernandez’s season is over, and that Rudy will undergo surgery on his lower back. From the Denver Post: “He has missed 12 games this year because of the lower back strain. A date for the procedure has not been set. The injury flared up in Monday’s game against Dallas. Fernandez, 26, joined the Nuggets in a Dec. 13 trade, and he has played 31 games. He has averaged 8.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.03 steals in 22.9 minutes. Fernandez also is a member of Spain’s national team, which has qualified for the 2012 London Games that begin in late July. Spain lost to Team USA in the gold-medal game of the 2008 Olympics, and he is was on the team in points and assists. He also played in the 2004 Games.”

    Can they just give USA the trophy. Rubio is gone, Fernandez is gone. All they have is the Gasols and Navarro.

    He never was able to recover from that fall he suffered in Portland. He was never the same player after that.
