Wilson Chandler Close to Signing 5-Year, $30+ Million Deal in Denver

Wilson Chandler is reportedly close to reaching an agreement to return to the Mile High City, where he can expect to make over $30 million in the next five years. Per ESPN: “The Denver Nuggets are closing in on a long-term deal with restricted free agent Wilson Chandler, according to sources with knowledge of the talks. Sources said the deal could be completed as early as Friday. ‘It’s very, very close,’ one source said. Final parameters are still being discussed, sources said, but one scenario on the table is a five-year deal worth in excess of $30 million with a team option in the fifth year. After trading away veteran center Nene earlier in the day, Denver had more financial flexibility to offer the long-term deal Chandler has been seeking since returning from a stint in China earlier this month.”

Ah, this sheds light on the NENE trade. Think he’s worth a bit more, but good for him if he’s happy.

For his stats, i would have not given him the contract.

If you give hime minutes, he could probably increase his value.

Nuggets are not getting out the first round.

Five years is a bit long, IMO. However, the big picture is that it is essentially a four year deal for $24; the fifth year is a team option. It’s not bad but could potentially be a good contract depending on what he does. It’s up to Chandler to make the latter come true.

Co-Sign Orange. Ewww that sounded gross.

Starters: McVee, Farid, Gallo, Wilson, Lawson… what do you think?

Starters: More like: McGee,Faried,Gallo,AAA,Lawson. I think Wilson would be better coming off the bench as he would be a scoring and defensive punch behind a scoring Gallo and a defensive AAA. The nuggets could use him more off the bench. Plus he has said he wouldnt mind coming off the bench. The bench lineup would be Mozgov,Buckets (A.Harrington), wilson,Rudy, and Dre. That a preety darn good back up rotation. And 3rd string linup would be: Kosta, Birdman,Hamilton, Pookie Brewer, and J.Stone. Which is decent right?
