Wizards’ Trevor Booker Has Plantar Fascitis

Wizards head coach Randy Wittman said today that forward Trevor Booker has plantar fascitis, according to Craig Stouffer of the Washington Examiner. SB Nation DC has more: “Washington Wizards forward Trevor Booker confirmed in tweets today that he has had a lingering foot pain issue that has effected him for the last two months. Despite the pain feeling like “running with a nail in my foot” according to Booker, he is not expected to miss any time.” Here is what Booker said, via his Twitter account (@35_Fitz):

    Yeah — I’d almost rather shut him down to be sure he’s 100 percent healthy. Scary stuff.

    I’m currently battling that myself. It’s not something that you can’t play through though. You just have to be sure to stretch alot, wear a splint whenever you’re not moving around, and get inserts for your shoes. The best thing to do is to rest it competely, but it will still heal if you stay active.

    I’ve had this come and go a few times myself. Never had a bootie, but lots of stretching and shoe inserts can basically help you forget about it for a while. Hope he gets better. Isn’t this why White Chocolate retireD?
