Carmelo Anthony Confident Knicks Will Hang On to Playoff Spot

With the Milwaukee Bucks nipping at their heels for the final Playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, Carmelo Anthony says that he’s confident the New York Knicks will find a way to squeeze into the postseason. From the NY Post: “I believe we’ll make the playoffs,’ Anthony said. ‘We want to utilize the next 13 games and days we have off to get everybody right. The guys who are healthy have to stay healthy. The guys not healthy, got to get healthy.’ Anthony, who said his sore groin is nearing 100 percent, feels he’s finally being used correctly. While former coach Mike D’Antoni’s speedball offense was predicated on creating open looks from the 3-point line, Anthony is now having a field day on the low blocks under interim coach Mike Woodson’s new regime. The Knicks lead Milwaukee by two games following the Bucks’ 112-98 win at Washington last night. The past four games, Anthony has been on a tear, scoring 28, 25, 36 and 19 points as he feasts in an offense better suited for him. ‘Coach Woodson always wanted me to go down there in the post, get to the goal by driving and staying close to the basket,’ Anthony said. ‘So the system he’s put in, not really a system but the offense he’s put in, is to get more post-ups to get closer to the basket and from there start inside out.’ With Amar’e Stoudemire out at least another two weeks and Jeremy Lin out until the playoffs, the offense is focused on Anthony.”

“Carmelo Anthony Confident Knicks Will Get Swept In Playoffs Again”

    No Lin, no Win.

Well, if the league has their way, the Knicks will make it into the playoffs. Sad fact is, even with an early exit by the Knicks, it’ll draw more coverage & ratings than watching the smaller market Bucks.

HATERS! This is not the same team from last year people. We will not get swept in the playoffs (note, we will make the playoffs). We have a much deeper bench then we’ve ever had and enough talent to fascilitate the ball. Do i think we can win a championship with Baron Davis starting at point guard? No. But i don’t think that just because Jeremy Lin, still an unproven prospect, is sidelined with an injury that all hope is out the window. You guys are aware that we have CARMELO ANTHONY right!?! I mean…i know numbers don’t lie, but they don’t exactly tell the whole story either.
Look for the Knicks to solidify that 8th seed. After that…its a toss up. But i don’t see us getting swept with the intensity that i’ve seen from our Laders (Tyson Changdler/Carmelo) down to the rookies! (Shumpert & Harrellson). Keep hating tho…

I’m sure melo was pretty confident he would have had more success in the league by now. Just play ball

honestly, i like the Knicks chances against the bulls if they were to meet and im not just saying that. Their defense is great, but they really only have one guy that can get their own shot off, and he’s been injured most of the year. The knicks stand a good chance if they can get healthier bodies

“The past four games, Anthony has been on a tear, scoring 28, 25, 36 and 19 points as he feasts in an offense better suited for him.”

He is the only consistent threat now. Bye, bye playoffs.
