Evan Turner Wants the Sixers to Face Chicago in the Playoffs

On the final day of the NBA’s regular season (can you believe it’s already almost over), the Philadelphia Sixers are currently the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. That’s where Evan Turner wants them, since it’d give Philly a shot at the top-seeded Chicago Bulls in the first round of the Playoffs. Per the Daily Herald: “Philadelphia guard Evan Turner is the rare player who answered the question, ‘Which team would you rather play in the next round of the playoffs?’ [...] ‘I think we’ll be able to compete well against Chicago and have an opportunity to win the series,’ he said. ‘It means we’re dodging the tougher team. That’s what I think.’ The alternative is No. 2 seed Miami, and the Sixers are 1-11 the last two years against the Heat, so it’s tough to argue with Turner’s opinion. Before playing Milwaukee on Wednesday, 76ers coach Doug Collins said his team was already planning to fly from Detroit to Chicago late Thursday night, in preparation for Game 1 at the United Center on Saturday. Alas, nothing was settled Wednesday. Philadelphia beat the Bucks, who rested most of their starters. New York beat the Clippers, so the Knicks and Sixers remain tied for 7th place in the East. New York holds the tiebreaker, so a Philadelphia loss at Detroit on Thursday would guarantee a Bulls-Sixers matchup. The Knicks play at Charlotte (7-58), which is trying to avoid a 23-game losing streak and the worst winning percentage in NBA history.”

Rose is getting his burst back. Sixers will be done in 5. Piss of the Bulls. Great plan Evan.

This is funny. I think the Sixers will beat the Bulls in 3. I’m sure mr. Turner has it all figured out.

ET is absolutely correct. Sixers will get swept by Miami, plain and simple. They have a better chance to take a game or two from Chicago, but will ultimately be resigned to the same fate, a 1st round loss. This is the life of a Sixer fan.

ET couldn’t hang with Rose in high school, and I seriously doubt he’s going to be able to back up it now. Nice try Evan. Bulls don’t need bulletin board material, but thanks.

Got d@mn, got some sensitive @$$ Bulls fans on here. Evan is playing the percentages, that’s all. Where in anything that Evan said could be construed as he said he’s going at Rose directly?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Slick Ric

I’m pretty sure the Bulls would rather play sixers too.

  • http://slamonline.com Nella

Because they’ve had beef going back to their Simeon/St. Joe’s days, that’s why. I’m not sensitive about it, as much as I’m familiar with it. Also a guy averaging 6pt/5rbs against the team he wants to match up with should probably keep quiet. I guarantee you his teammates told him to shut up after that. Just saying.

    Told U So..lol..

  • bull22

just a bunch of jawjacking, getting it done in seven games is another story…

  • Dubclub

Hahaha yeah I’m pretty sure the bulls rather play the sixers than the kincks the sixers are getting swept ether way

Exactly @bull22 he doesn’t get that talking will only want us to push harder to humiliate them.

As a Bulls fan, I would rather the Knicks…go head and get a nice competitive series over in 5 games…gain/keep some edge…also, to shame the knicks fans early…They really think they can deal with the Bulls…It won’t happen. I wish Iman Shumpert would try to check ROSE again.

im a bulls fan and i really dont care who we play

  • lakernation

Evan Turner is not as slick as he thinks he is…… we know why you want to face the bulls bruh! You do not want to face that track team Miami Heat with that big bad boogey monster LBJ young man.

Oooof, bad move mr. Turner. Bad move.
Remember how pissed drose got cuz of the pacers “celebration”?
    I smell a sweep.

  • Fat Lever

Wow, bulls fans definitely feel entitled to something. Sixers will not be a cakewalk.

  • http://bulls.com airs

shouldn’t the bulls fans feel entitled to something?
best D in the league, number one record in the league, all with Drose missing a huge chunk of the season, lets not forget the sixers falling off after the all star break.
if anyone should feel entitled to beating an 8th seed in the FIRST ROUND, its the bulls. unbelievable.

  • Fat Lever

Make it out of the east first then the fan base can start to feel entitled.

  • http://bulls.com airs

First off: No 1 team in the playoffs can sweep the sixers, too young, too fast, too athletic… &dont 4get they also went 2 the playoffs last year & the younger players who have never played at that high of a level lets just say their cherries were popped bc we all kno playoff NBA bball is way diff then regular season ball…….. As long as they stick to what works for us a run & gun offense w/ better then average guards & athletic forewards we should b ok im not sayin that we are the top contender 4 chip that we are def not but lets not 4get either 1-11 against the Heat well the 1 win was a complete & utter domination of the Heat u had the entire big 3 healthy & ran circles around us until u got turner & iggy taken turns showin off the team to b real tough will be the knicks they have prob 1 of the more elite set of guards & solid foreward & the the one area we truely lack a dominate center but w/ wat we got this sixers team continues to amaze me
