Andrew Bynum: Lakers ‘Know Exactly How to Defend’ Thunder

Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum don’t sound overly concerned about the Lakers’ chances tonight and going forward in their series against the Thunder. Bynum even claimed that his team figured out how to slow down OKC. From the LA Times: “If the Lakers drop Game 3 Friday at Staples Center, Kobe Bryant will almost surely have to get a sixth ring a different time. No NBA team has come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a series. Bryant offered reporters a few different versions of ‘We’ll be fine,’ his voice showing anything but panic Thursday. He seemed more amused at the media horde surrounding him. ‘I’ve been here before,’ he said. ‘I communicated that to the guys. Everybody will be ready to go.’ [...] The Lakers are now 1-4 against the Thunder this season. They’re hoping to match the defensive physicality they showed Wednesday in holding Russell Westbrook to five-for-17 shooting and post players Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins to combined five-for-16 shooting. ‘I don’t think we have many pieces to pick up,’ center Andrew Bynum said. ‘We know exactly how to defend them now and offensively making them pay for just being over-aggressive.’”

  • Jer dawg

Shut up, Andrew. Your disinterest in the overall team concept sickens me. They should trade you. You don’t care we don’t care. Odom didn’t care then we don’t care.

Really starting to dislike this dude and the only reason I still do is because I’m a devoted fan.

“Going down 0-3 has been our plan all along.” – Bynum, Game 3 press conference.

  • ash

They might have a chance to beat OKC.. I thought last game OKC was going yto win by @ least 10 pts. Lakers were 2 pts away from winning. This series will prob go 6 or 7 games.

  • Salty

So…the Lakers were like Santa Clause in the last game, giving it away to the Thunder, now they know exactly how to defend them. Why do you keep losing then Andrew? Since it’s all so explainable…

Alright guys, lightin up on Bynum. I know he is just a big kid so help support him rather than tear him down. Like were all so perfect.

  • LA Huey

Bynum is really trying to become a wrestling villain. I’m loving it.

Sure we will. Weve seen it before. Lakers can barely slow the thunder for a minute. Sure buddy. Suuuuure

  • t-sizzle

They do know how to defend the Thunder. What they don’t know how to do is use clippers and black air dye on 25 yr olds.

  • http://www.offthebackboard.wordpress.com Off The Backboard

Bynum needs to shut the f*ck up. Holy crap.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Everyone knows exactly how to guard the Thunder. Doesn’t mean you’ll be successful.
    .
Hint to everyon that thinks Bynum is lying: The Thunder run a high screen and roll.
    .
That’s it. There it is, if you know how to defend that, then you know how to defend the Thunder. The problem is, knowing how to do something, and actually be able to do it are different.

  • ken

watch the Lakers lose.. Bynum’s gonna be under HUGE scrutiny

  • Top$helf

It’s obvious the alzheimer’s is creeping in with the gray hair thats why he’s never in the huddle he forgets where he is and forgets he’s 7 foot sometimes

  • PnoyVibe

lol Bynum just gets funnier and funnier

  • Zabbah

Ain’t Bynum’s fault he’s got a big mouth, blame the reporters for asking him. What’s he supposed to say, “we’re effed?”

Kobe is delusional like a turtle trying to outsprint a hare.
Mavs series last season, he had the gall to nonchalantly claim he wasn’t worried they were down 0:3. Two days ago he went into phantasy land when claiming the Thunder’s ‘defensive schemes in the 4th were unconventional, gambling and something we were not used to seeing’ instead of just admitting that mistakes were made.
really? A team scrambling on D, trying to overplay passing lanes, create turnovers while being down by 7pts with a few mins left to play is such a new concept to the entire team? How many combined years of bball experience is gathered on that bench again?
Unlikeable doesn’t even begin to cover this twerp.

  • bike

Well, they did figure out how to slow OKC in game 2 compared to 1. Still lost. He’s not really saying anything crazy here despite what the media makes the headline.
