Avery Bradley to Undergo Season-Ending Shoulder Surgery

The Boston Celtics and their fans had been fearing this news, and now it’s an unfortunate reality. Avery Bradley is done for the remainder of the postseason, as he will undergo left shoulder surgery. Reports the Boston Herald: “Avery Bradley will undergo surgery on his left shoulder today. Bradley has dislocated the shoulder a number of times during the postseason and was sidelined for Games 5 and 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the 76ers. The surgery will be performed by team physician Brian McKeon. The recovery time is expected to take most of the offseason, but Bradley should be back for next season, barring any setbacks. Of course, his absence for tomorrow night’s Game 7 is the main focus right now. ‘It’s disappointing,’ Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. ‘Obviously when a player goes down that’s disappointing and especially on what Avery has given us this year. His growth this year has been terrific. He’s become a very valuable piece to our basketball team. His ability to guard the best guard at 1 or 2 has really taken so much pressure off of (Rajon) Rondo, in particular.’”

Gritty young kid who has improved his J in ways Rajon can only dream of right now. 2 weeks ago I viewed him as the crucial defensive counter for DWade in ECF’s now he’s sat the last few games and Bos looks cooked. Impossible to find a negative word for how he’s conducted himself this year…

    Nobody thinks you’re clever, Phil…

This sucks for Boston n the NBA fan again. Last year, it was Rondo’s arm; this year it’s Rose, Ray Allen then Bradley. IF the Celts beat Philly, they will be shorthanded n beatup vs Miami…

Big ups SpitHot, thanks man that’s was a cool read for my Sat morning. Awesome graphic for the shot chart as well. I used to think Rajon’s shooting % benefited greatly from his lay-ups/close scores, but seems his elbow J is just as much an aide. Sometimes the more I think I know, the less I actually do…

haha that’s the nature of knowledge, the shot chart was dope, as well as all the surprises from the different spots on the floor. Strangest thing for me was that the durant spot on the right of the top of the key was so much lower than the other spots for the 3

S@cks. Hope he can heal up and come back 100% next season. There’s a starting 2 spot ready for you AB…
