Injuries to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin Concerning for the Clippers

Though Chris Paul promises to be ready to play tomorrow night in Game 6, his injury and that of teammate Blake Griffin are causes for concern. From the OC Register: “Blake Griffin injured his left knee and Chris Paul strained his right hip flexor in the Clippers’ 92-80 loss to the Grizzlies on Wednesday at the FedEx Forum in Memphis. Both Griffin and Paul returned to the game but looked visibly uncomfortable. Griffin’s injury occurred when he drove the lane on Marc Gasol, drawing a foul before landing awkwardly on his left leg, which flexed backwards. The Clippers called the injury a hyperflexed knee before diagnosing it as a sprain. Paul, who missed the final game of the regular season, was noticeably bothered by the injury. Griffin will have an MRI on the knee Thursday in Los Angeles. ‘The pain scares you most,’ he said. ‘It’s not because it hurts; it’s because you don’t know why.’ Griffin said the knee stiffened up on the court after he returned, but the pain felt different than the left patella fracture that kept him out for his rookie season. Paul vowed to be on the court Friday for Game 6. ‘I’ll be ready,’ he said, adding that both he and Griffin are ‘tough guys.’”

Not a fan of the clips but getting taken out by injuries blows.

Toughness has nothing to do with playing while injured. I hope both these guys are able to get 100% before playing again. It’s not community pick-up ball, where you can coast sometimes – no matter what Amare and Melo think.

Those injuries may be a side effect of flopping.

Exactly what robb said! if you fall down all the time to draw fouls on contact that wouldn’t knock down a toddler, when you get real contact Karma might just give you an extra little shove. So tired of these floppers. Win or lose, hope that my Grizzlies never have to play their sorry #$%^& ever again in a series.

I believe CP3 may have injured his groin, Blake only injured his pride.Blake would not of gone down with the Clipps leading in L.A, only losing in Memphis caused the “injury”.270 pounds that goes high but falls way too easily.A shame really, i had so much respect for him prior to this series.
