Kevin Durant is Already Tired of Answering Questions About the Spurs

The highly-anticipated Western Conference Finals series between the OKC Thunder and San Antonio Spurs doesn’t tip off until Sunday night, but already, words from both teams are flying. Tony Parker has challenged Russell Westbrook directly, and Kevin Durant seems to think the media isn’t giving his squad a fair shot at winning against San Antonio. From the Oklahoman: “Kevin Durant was just three minutes into his 10-minute session with reporters Wednesday when he grew a bit testy. Of the first seven questions lobbed at him, Durant was forced to field five about the San Antonio Spurs. And he didn’t like it. Didn’t like it one bit. Once that fifth question came — a reasonable query about what he anticipates from the Spurs defensively against him — Durant tried to supply an answer but soon found himself swerving off script. ‘I’m just going to play my game,’ Durant started. ‘I can’t really think about how those guys are going to defend me. They’re a tough defensive group. But every question is about how the Spurs are going to come and how the Spurs are going to play. But you got to ask me how we’re going to come at them. We’re a tough team as well. We come out and play hard. We have a lot of weapons as well. I know they’re the No. 1 seed, they’re a tough group and they haven’t lost in a couple of months but I think that we bring another dimension to the table as well. And we can come out and compete.’ […] Durant wanted questions about his team, so I asked about his team. What makes you confident, I asked, against the Spurs? Where do you feel like you have the advantage? ‘I just think we play hard,’ Durant said. ‘We’re athletic. I didn’t say we were going to come out and dominate those guys. But I said that we can compete, of course. We can move the ball. I think cutting down on turnovers has been great for us these last couple of series. Also, just getting out and getting stops and trying to get easy points.’”

I guess durant not used to being in the western finals or something….yes they will ask you about your opponent what do you expect?

I would be pretty excited to talk about my opponent in the wcf but that’s just me.

  • LA Huey

Hilarious. He wants to be asked certain questions but responds with routine, predictable stuff. I understand that he shouldn’t be giving up actual strategy. Just humor the press, tell them you plan on running your offense around Collison and Perk and spotting up for 40 footers.

  • LA Huey

Let’s just give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

“We just play hard… And be the best team we can be.”
“I just wanna go out there, play my game and continue to get better everyday.” – Kevin Durant’s 2 answers to everything anyone will ever ask him, including: Do you wear a backpack during sex?

  • FnF

The WCF need to hurry up. David Stern should have made the East also play back-to-back games.

  • Riggs

For those having problems with reading comprehension. His main beef isnt the questions, its how theyre being asked.

  • pLaYz

Beef with how there asked? Its the playoffs how many times kobe get asked stupid questions? you answer with stupid replies not get mad and say ask me about me and my team

  • Mike

How smart are these questions though? What the hell is he suppose to say. Yeah I really like how the spurs run their offense, I like it so much that when spurs games are on tv I sit on the bench and read highlights off my phone? Makes sense to me to focus on your team first

  • Bruno

hey KD for next questions: both teams played hard …

  • Mike Mihalow

Looks like the Spurs are already under his skin.

  • pLaYz

@Mike or he’s playing doodle jump lol WCF going to be a good battle cant wait… idk if i can say the same about the east

  • http://sdfjklc.com Jukai

I didn’t even think he was that testy. THAT is Kevin Durant being testy?

  • Ronald

@FnF: Yeah it’s stupid that the East didnt have to play back to backs.

  • Kana u
