Knicks Sign Mike Woodson to 3-Year Contract

The reported “long-term deal” has been finalized. Under Mike Woodson, the Knicks went 18-6 during the regular season and beat some good teams when healthy. The Daily News reports that New York has rewarded Woodson with a three-year deal, with the third year as a team option: “The Knicks and Mike Woodson finalized a deal that will keep him as the team’s coach for at least three more years. A person close to Woodson told the News that Woodson agreed to a deal Friday. ‘Mike took over the team under challenging circumstances and made it clear, starting on day one, that he was going to hold every player on our roster accountable,’ Garden boss James Dolan said in a statement. ‘We saw a significant improvement since Mike took over and believe our team will only keep improving under Mike’s direction.'”
