Kobe on Fisher Guarding Him: ‘I Love Him, But He’s A Midget’

After sinking two early fourth-quarter jumpers over the 6-1 Derek Fisher, Kobe wasn’t taking too much credit. But Kobe did take a lot of playful shots at Fisher at the post-game press conference, calling him a “midget” and “5-2” (via CBSSports.com): “Bryant scored easily over Fisher on back-to-back possessions, by the way, to give the Lakers a 78-76 lead. ‘Same result as all the times we played one-on-one in the gym,’ Bryant said. ‘I love him, but he’s a midget.’”

it’s relative, bynum probably calls koba a midget all the time

  • Timshel

I’ll bet D-Fish laughs when he hears this…

  • IamYOU

    then nate’s a dwarf then?

  • Zabbah

Hey Kobe, it’s dwarf, not midget. Let’s try not to be offensive, eh?

  • Mike

Oh okay, thanks for the insight.

  • Michelle

Its true though but Fish is a lot stronger though

@spit hot fiyah not if he wants his touches the next game

  • horsey

Derek Fisher always helps the Lakers win at home…

Cameron, facts help. Fisher can max bench press 400. Kobe benches 300-315 max.

Strength is about a whole lot more than how much you bench. Kobe has those long arms; that will reduce how much he can bench. Fish is stockier, but I’d be shocked if Kobe wasn’t stronger overall.

Who cares who’s stronger! I guess Kobe’s too midget for Durant, got shut down in the 4th. Take that ya cocky b*stard

I think it’d be close, Fish is pretty built. In the post, Kobe’s gonna win every time. For a multitude of reasons haha.

  • Yesse

Funny. Ofcourse it’s easy for Kobe to make a fadeaway against D-Fish, cause he is alot taller.

  • Riki

Fisher really doesn’t bench 400lbs. Anybody who lifts seriously knows just how much time and effort goes into getting that strong. The man is an NBA player, not a powerlifter.

  • http://www.adultism.com justlenny

A man’s strength isn’t measured by how much he can bench. numb nuts smh

  • youngmuggsy

I’d much rather be 6ft 1 than 6ft 6 to be perfectly honest.

    ^^ WTF ^ I wish i was a little bit taller yall’!

  • rand33p

saying you would much rather be 6 ft 1 than 6 ft 6 doesnt apply to basketball right? ur just saying that randomly ? lol

  • Edoods

That’s not a nice comment. Good thing the Lakers LOST!

  • youngmuggsy

What I meant was, if I was 6ft 1 (pretty much ideal height to most people) I wouldn’t take an insult about height from a lanky 6ft 6 man seriously. Being that tall is kinda a burden outside of basketball.

  • rand33p

i know plenty of 6’6 dudes and they not hating themselves lol not lanky either

  • Beavis

Fisher isn’t 6’1 at all, not even in bball shoes. Dude is more like 5’11 tops. Rondo on the court is a legit 6’1 as he is listed.
