NBA Players React to Heat-Pacers Game 4

A tweetcap.

With Chris Bosh sidelined and the Heat-Pacers series momentum located thoroughly on Indiana’s side, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade came out Sunday and did exactly what they needed to do, combining for 70 points, 27 boards and 15 assists and earning a solid victory that swung the momentum back in their favor and restored Miami’s home court advantage. And while LBJ and DWade were busy tearing it up, dozens of their colleagues watched along on ABC, many of them sending their thoughts onto Twitter as the action unfolded. Roll through the gallery above to see how a variety of NBA players reacted to Sunday afternoon’s tilt.

  • IamYOU

Everybody talking about 2k12, maybe lebron played 2k12 on practice day?

    Video Game James: how fitting.
    I like it. Good nickname.

  • KevinGarnett

These guys are all nobodies in the NBA. Who cares what they tweet

  • http://www.soundcloud.com/tray-5 T-Ray

    Lol @ Tolliver

  • MUBWAR

video game james might be a little better then King James, at least for the moment waiting on that …

  • bashmo

@KevinGarnett Lamarcus Aldridge is no “nobody”.

  • M.V.

It’s sad that this generation of basketball players considers games to be TV shows and not a true sporting competition among true basketball players. Anyone can do what LBJ and DWade did today – a 1-time show when they were allowed to travel and get unmerited fouls. Pacers were fouled for breathing in game 4 just to stop their initial running. It was obvious they would kick their ass again! So, refs took out the two pacer leaders to slow their game. Where is the competition and fairness in that!? True basketball fans know that game 4 was a shame for NBA, although some considered it a show that deserves to be put in a PS3 game. The question is can LBJ and DWade put the same effort in the rest of their playoff games or is DWade going to “NOT FEEL WELL” AGAIN? For the true Basketball fans, those two are laughing stock! Hard to watch!

@ Kevin Garnett Isaiah Thomas is a nobody?? Jackass

  • Coconut

@ M.V. Anyone can do what LBJ and DWade did today? Really? Then why are you at your computer instead of doing what they do?

  • IamYOU

M.V. is envy @bron and wade.

  • Coconut

@ M.V. C’mon man, Attacking the rim to get easy buckets or trying to get the opposing bigs in foul trouble is an important part of the game. The Heat executed their game plan and it worked out. Hibberts foul on that Wade Layup at the end of Q3 (I think) and Granger following it up with a Technical foul was a very stupid moment by the Pacers. And I’m a Nuggets fan so I’m watching the rest of the Playoffs being neutral. I saw an entertaining basketball game last night.

  • http://Somethingsomething. Ugh

    In summary: lol smh 2k

  • T Bone

@NM30 – not that i would say any of these guys are nobodies, but you do know that the Isaiah Thomas quoted here is not the Piston’s legend, but the King’s rookie PG right… or is he too much of a nobody for you to have known that?
    just playin.

  • Yesse

I like video game james alot more than king james.

  • ab40

can they do this the next two out of three games? and can west and hibbert suck this much again? I don’t think so. Amazing performance though

  • Youngindy21

This is all well and good but let’s not get too excited. I AM NOT an Lebron Hater, BUT Lebron James is going to have to score 40pts and 18pts every game if the Miami Heat want to win this series. Does anybody really see that happening? He had those numbers and the Miami Heat didn’t even win by double digits. Is Udonis Haslem gonna have 14 pts again? Plus David West only played 28 minutes. Lebron James is a Really Great player, but A lot of things have to go right for the Miami Heat to beat the Indiana Pacers or their possible ECF opponent.

  • skip

Mv is right @ coconut I’m not a fan of neither team. That game was hard to watch mainly, because usually home court team should get benefit of the calls. The refs missed several calls against MIA and didn’t miss many against ind. What I have been trying to figure out is how lebron only has 4 fouls this whole series.

  • JMagicFan

    Wilkins said 19 rebs lol

  • Dj J

Granger should be suspended. He plays like a barbarian. Such a dick!!!!

  • IamYOU

@youngindy WHAT are you saying? Lebron is not capable to that again? Is that what were you saying?

P.S. don’t use “an” if you’ll going to use a consonant before it.

  • monkeyball

@ M.V.: The whole “these young kids don’t get it” angle is crap. Magic, Brid, and MJ used to get all the calls too. Kobe as well. That’s not a valid criticism.

  • ron

Great efforts by the Heats. Pacers need better D.

  • All Day

Lebron will put up a quadruple double and people will still say he’s getting too much calls from the refs. Smh

  • http://slamonline.com raylan

Video game james not good for texting.
Think about it, LBJ texting rookies. Hey this is Video Game, wanna join my PR company?

  • Sizzle

@M.V. your a complete troll. It’s actually the opposite. True basketball fans can appreciate what LeBron did yesterday. Also, the whole “anyone can do this thing.” Are you f-ing kidding me? I guess since anyone can do it, then how comes Elgin Baylor was the only other player to score 40+ pts, 18+ Rebs and 9+ assts in playoff history? Your comment is a complete fail and you might as well find some other sport to occupy your time.

  • Riggs

4 fouls the whole series is more surprising (and more BS).

  • http://slamonline.com Datkid

cosign sizzle. MV is a jack@ss who cow couldn’t get 40 and 20 playing with kindergartners.

  • http://Somethingsomething. Ugh

@IamYOU: “don’t use “an” if you’ll going to use a consonant before it. ”

    Really?

  • IamYOU

not really I just trolled a bit..

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

    Riggs
LeBron has averaged two fouls are fewer basically his entire career. Check his numbers. Some publication did a story a while back about the discrepancy between fouls called for him and fouls called against him, and raised the issue of a conspiracy or preferential treatment.
However, if you watch dude play, he avoids fouls like the plague. He only takes charges in certain situations, he rarely reaches. Dude doesn’t body up on defense, his hands are rarely in the cookie jar. He almost had a fit the other day when he got four fouls in that game against the Knicks, and most of those fouls were of the dubious variety.
I don’t think the refs cheat, I just think James avoids fouls. It’s probably why his block and steal averages are far from gaudy, but still solid.

  • IGGI

I got to say this….Danny Granger is a punk, he’s beefing with everyone.

  • HighSocietyInkMil

Great players but not a great team lebron is the best player hands even to hibbert lebron is the biggest on the court and can do that every game, Wade is clearly the sidekick but he should be the PG cuz he can dribble the shit out that ball. The first time well second (okc) I have ever seen that you can say what u want bout him not havin rings yet but pippen and Jordan never had numbers like that in one game. If the lebron of Cleveland shows up they can get this chip

  • underdog

Still not a fan of this dude, but I admit he’s reigning.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

I hope ‘Video Game James’ spreads; could make some awesome kicks from Nike.

  • AQWORD

Video Game James is nice coz – Genesis – King James Version is too long.

  • R32

Miami looked doomed for another BAD loss the way they played the 1st half (especially that 1st qtr) but man, LBJ and Wade were amazing the rest of the way. One of the greatest performances in recent Playoffs.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

You know who else never fouled people…..
    .
    Wilt Chamberlain.
    .
Sometimes, the best athletes are the best athletes. And in turn, can do amazing athletic things without fouling.

  • TheWhiteMarkPrice

    Once again nbk dropping knowledge!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.boogiewilliams.com Boing Dynasty

Video Game James is nothing new, Mo Williams used to call him that in Cleveland. You guys do watch basketball, yeah?

  • T-Money

I was talking about it in he post up e other day. I think drew gooden gave him that nickname after game 5 of the ecf vs detroit in 09.

There’s a lot of GRANGER HATE in here. Which I can understand, I’m a Raps fan, and he constantly annoys me with the way he plays my team. However, you guys have to look at the other side of the coin as well. Danny Granger is a smart guy, he knows as good as he is, he’s not LeBron or Wade. He knows that he needs his teammates more than any other franchise player left in the playoffs right now. As the leader of his team he has to make sure that his team doesn’t become intimidated or back down from Miami. The captains attitude will permeate throughout the team. The perfect example of this is when the Cavs had LeBron. The best record in the league two years in a row, but once they face a real challenge in the playoffs the whole team fizzles out. If you watched those playoffs you know LeBron pretty much threw in the towel which was a clear signal to his team to do the same.

Pacers have played rough and tough ball all e season long. Why would the change it now? Granger just has to make sure he doesn’t earn himself a suspension.

  • veepink

@M.V. wade “not feel well again”. wade has been battling that knee injury for years. your comment was very ignorant, you obviously don’t follow his game otherwise you would of known that. if you followed Lebron you would also know that he rarely gets into foul trouble even during the reg season, it’s been that way almost his whole career. i’m assuming you said since “anyone” can put up 40 pts and 18 rebounds, that you are capable of doing that every game day in and day out! you shouldn’t speak on behalf of “true basketball fans” because erdays performance was beyond words! you don’t have to like them as people, but damn you have to respect their game both are carrying the team on their backs with out much bench support…shame on you for calling yourself a true basketball fan…fouls are just part of the game and the way the pacers like to play. I sure do remember their Biggs getting into quite a bit of foul Trouble even during the regular season…

  • Tom

Lebron only has four fouls this post season or whatever it is because he does NOT foul..he should be getting to the line a lot more than KD too in the big scheme of things…Lebron never has been a dirty player..someone the other day tried to tell me that he flops LOL are u kidding me? LBJ hate is ridiculous…IF this man had a coach or actually plays for a well established coach, this guy would give the GOAT a run for his money…but he doesnt so he won’t.

  • LA Huey

Nails, LeBron “fizzled” out in 2009? How can you say that when he averaged something like 38/9/9 in the Orlando series. ’10 and ’11 were on him but don’t try to rewrite history.

  • http://www.nba.com Red

Tom you’re dead wrong, NEVER been a dirty player? Just this season he put 2 cheap dirty screens on John Lucas & Chandler. You talk about LBJ hate, yet you’re over here with LBJ a** kissing. Shut up, Spoelstra ain’t a bad coach at all.

  • http://www.nba.com Red

But I hope the Heat win, I hate Granger & the Pacers.

  • http://sdfjklc.com Jukai

    Spoestra is an atrocious coach.

  • Top$helf

    Granger is a studio gangster
