NBA is rigged. The Heat will win the next 3 titles, it’s guaranteed now.

it was a Hornets logo on the back of every ball in the pot

This just in…Dwight Howard and Deron Williams to the New Orleans Hornets. #Sternswayornoway

  • blakos

    Who should Washington take?

Beal, MKG. Slight punt on Drummond?

  • http://slamonline.com 19821982

Just cause the only team owned by the league won first pick in the league run lottery doesn’t mean the league wants to profit from its investment in itself.

  • ctk

Better for the league Davis with the Hornets ..they got some talent already ..a good coach
With the Bobcats he wont gone matter for atleast 5seasons min.

  • KeviNfromSD

    Well played Patrick Ewing.

  • anthony

Cosign Caboose. First the lockout, then he kills the REAL CP3 trade, now in the deepest draft in years not only does he get the first pick, but he gets the tenth as well?? Stern has become a different animal and the same beast..You’re welcome (in my Kobe voice)

  • Rigged

I had just said earlier today ” watch the Hornets get first pick” !!! so obvious I feel like not watching anymore NBA

Honestly this is what’s best. He would have been overlooked in char and the team would still be horrible. NO has some nice pieces. If they can get got gordon to stay then they could possibly slip in that 8th spot next year. Jack, gordon, ariza, davis, kaman, isn’t a bad 5. And u could have that 10 pick come off the bench

  • Heals

Love that the conspiracy theorists can go wild with the outcome (credence or not, it’s still fun), love the Maloofs and Prokhorov (sp?) giving us some eye candy and I know I’ll draw some negative reactions for this, but I rolled my eyes at DanGilbert bringing his youngster again for the cuteness/sympathy card…

Am I the only that thinks Davis will be a total bust in the NBA? Too weak to handle post play in the NBA and his game is nowhere near versatile enough to score on decent post defenders. Him and Sullinger will be busts.

what do they mean by via brooklyn nets

  • everything

i was dreaming of a anthony davis and cousins backcourt or even a wall to davis combo for the wiz. i guess Anthony davis and eric gordon aint that bad right?

    *frontcourt

@New_guy: you havent watched much of davis then.

  • everything

portland traded gerald wallace and couple of other players for a 1st rd pick

  • Steps Around Lue

@brandonbombay…portland received the nets pick in a trade aka via brooklyn nets

  • http://www.slamonline.com keep it real

Hornets cavs and blazers look good. Nets gm should be fired and replaced with Memphis bleek. How u gonna trade the #6 pick for a dude that’s gonna leave right after the season #stupid!

  • https://twitter.com/#!/D12FSU D12FSU

An Erc Gordon – Unibrow combo will be nasty, Give those 2 time to grow together, they have the chance to make some noise

  • O

C-sign keep it real. How the hell did the Nets trade a first round pick in one of the deepest drafts for Wallace? Is he really THAT much better – or younger – than anyone in the top 10 draft? That was one of the dumbest moves ever made.

  • Ronnie

@New_guy – I am with you! Dude basically profited from playing on a stacked team in a mid-major conference at best. Very limited offensively, I don’t think any of these 19 year old kids are ready to take over, although the NBA is incredibly watered-down and more boring to watch than it has ever been. I mean, every one of these kids who leave early immediately begin talking about all the areas in which they need to improve. It has just gotten basically unbearable to watch, unless you are like 21 and under and this is the only NBA you know.

  • Trilla

Davis would’ve been a perfect fit with Washington but oh well. I think the Wizards are gonna get Thomas Robinson (who’s from DC) now.

  • Aamir K.

@Caboose but it would be funny if the Spurs swept the entire playoffs

  • everything

owner of no saints bought the hornets?

  • Shem

Cleveland and Sacramento are in the worst position. I see three maybe four actual difference makers. AD, MKG and Beal are the real deal, Barnes seems sporadic. I think Robinson and Drummond are busts waiting to happen.

  • MikeC.

I didn’t watch much college ball this year, so I might have missed something about Davis that has everyone all hyped up. To me, his ceiling looks like the next Marcus Camby.

  • http://cnbc.com New_Guy

I saw plenty of Davis. He’s to weak to be a dominant NBA player. If he does become a good player then Congrats to him but I don’t see it happening. Will someone please explain to me how he will be so good in the NBA?

  • Justin05

I understand where you’re coming from New-Guy. I believe that Kidd-Gilchrist will become a better player overall than Anthony but Davis was probably just bored off college bball. He wants to save his body for the real league. As for all the NBA rigged talk, Stern might have had a hand in getting the Hornets a #1 pick but the players are who compete so the Heat will NOT win anything. The Spurs are too fresh, Tony Parker is the most underrated player in the game and will continue to sdominate for a few years

  • Justin05

    BOOK IT!

  • http://grantland.com StuBaby

Benson: There’s no way I’m buying that piece of poop franchise.
Stern: Have you ever heard of The Brow?
    Benson: Keep talking….

HOKY POKY SMOKEY THE BEAR!!! MR HATCHET LOOKING RATCHET AND CLANK!!!!!! THE BABY IS SAYING MAYBE TO THE DOCTOR!!!!

  • http://grantland.com StuBaby

And how do people not realize how much of a freak Davis is? He can affect so many different aspects of a basketball game. As long as he isn’t plagued by injuries he is going to be a perennial All-star at the least. Dude is 19 and has grown about 8 inches in the last 2 years and people are worried because he isn’t built like Vernon Davis.

  • gboy

Davis will have an impact on the game defensively from day one, shoots 71% from the line so with good coaching he can extend his range. Plus the kid is still growing and evolving in his game. All great talents don’t have to score 30 to have an impact on the game.

  • http://www.nba.com Shadojoker

Rigged completely!! First the trades, then the allstar game, now this…come on now Stern just completely sweetend the pot! Btw I say Charlotte gets Harrison Barnes = next Durant and Davis = next Oden…I’m not fond of MGK..Bobcats needs a scorer!!

  • hero

since jordan left the bulls after his sixth championship, the nba needed to MAKE things happen for profit. they need higher ratings and big market teams with star players to make deep playoff runs or win championships. they need to promote nba basketball all over again without jordan. its been an enetertainment, WWE style, more than a sport since jordan left. so no surprise here in the draft. other popular examples: see 2002 kings-lakers wcf, 2010 game 7 finals. even up to the patrick ewing draft.

This lottery was the first time that I actually paid attention to the team’s representatives. If the Nets and Kings were in the top three, that would’ve been epic ;)
