Orlando Magic Have Waived Von Wafer

The team announced the roster move today. Per the Orlando Sentinel: “The move was expected. The final two seasons of Wafer’s contract — the 2012-13 season and the 2013-14 season — are unguaranteed. Wafer, 26, now can pursue other opportunities, either in the NBA or abroad. The Magic acquired him from the Boston Celtics in the sign-and-trade deal that brought big man Glen Davis to Orlando and sent power forward Brandon Bass to Boston. Wafer appeared in 33 games this past season, starting one of them. He averaged 5.9 points per game on 45.2 percent shooting.”

It’s Wafer right? Without the ‘i’. Unless this is some pun, Von got ‘Waifed’

If he can find a team that will give him a rotation spot, he can be a good asset for a team coming off the bench.

^Teams have given him roster spots, he can’t keep them. He’s got JR Smiths brain, minus the skills. Not a winning combination. Cool name tho.

Dude looked good in Houston before he went overseas. Now he looks like a goof. Not sure what happened.

Seems like its been downhill since he blew that dunk against the Wizards

Von is a nice player, that’s why he keeps getting jobs. He just hasn’t had a steady green light situation yet.

I’d like to see him return to the Celtics, if Allen leaves in FA and Bradley misses the start of the season there would be an opportunity for Von to produce and earn a solid rotation spot off the bench as a 6th man/spark plug. Always liked Wafer, I hope we give him another chance.
