Ray Allen and Paul Pierce Say They Prefer the Quick Turnaround Between Series

After grinding out a win during Saturday night’s Game 7, the Celtics are immediately off to South Florida, where they’ll take on the Miami Heat Monday night. Talk about a short turnaround. But according CSNNE, a couple of Boston vets don’t mind: “The Celtics won Game 7 against the 76ers on Saturday evening. They will fly to Miami Sunday morning and play Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Monday night. ‘It’s a quick turnaround, but I kind of like it that way,’ Pierce said following the Celtics clinching 85-75 win. ‘It keeps us in rhythm, it keeps us playing. We’re an older team so we don’t want to sit around for too long. You know we like the fact that we usually go right into it. We have tomorrow off, we’ll probably watch some film, go over scouting reports, shootaround on Monday, and that’s it.’ The Heat have not played since Thursday, when they knocked out the Indiana Pacers in Game 6. They have had time to return home, get settled in, and begin preparations for the next round. … ‘I prefer it myself,’ said Ray Allen. ‘We get back to business. We have a day to rest and then we’re back out there playing. At this point, everybody’s going to be what they’re going to be. You’re going to be tired or you’re going to be fatigued or whatever it is. We have to continue to take the rhythm that we have and now we have to change it and reconfigure how we think defensively and what we run offensively. The series changes. We don’t have a lot of time, but we have veteran players that know how to adjust to a new series.’”

  • TP

Boston in 6. Don’t be surprised when it happens.

Anyone that actually believes Boston has any chance is senile. Did you not see how Lebron and Wade played last series? Theres no chance in hell Boston has any hope of winning more than two games, and thats being generous.

I say this all the time, the Boston Celtics will only go as far as Marquis Daniels takes them.

This will be a tough tough series for who ever gets through. Its gonna be real physical, psychologicaly draining and nasty.San Antonio/OKC will destroy whoever it is that makes it through (Im a huge Celtics fan). Kinda wish Sheed was there for this one….

Miami will only go 4-0 if Wade dislocates Rondo’s elbow again.

You all be ready when experience shows up. Boston in 7! Celtics– have grit, toughness, and experince, and HERE. THEY. COME.

  • IamYOU

Miami will win it with or without dislocating anyone’s elbow.

  • DEN

Here we go again…As I always say, sooner or later the hater will be right. If you keep saying that the C’s are too old, not good enough and will lose, you will eventually be right and say “I told you so”. lol. Someone mentioned “Did you not see how Lebron and Wade played last series?”, I counter that with..Yes, and if LBJ gets away with his slick acting after elbows or his offensive fouling drives to the hole then it can be a short series. He is a beast, therefore he shouldn’t need the stiff arm or crab walk 3, 4 step drives. The C’s need to stop with the extended picks also. If everything is called down the line and both teams bring it..I pick the Celtics in 7. BTW, OKC/SA are not a lock to walk over the East. Know the Game, hate the uneducated fan. Signed, a senile BostonBaller. lol

I also like the quick turnaround, no chance for the pains to seize up the old bones…don’t break out the embalming fluid just yet. hahahaha

Boston is a veteran team, plays superior defense to Indiana, and has no problem giving their bigs the correct amount of shots to exploit the lack of Chris Bosh. It is for those reasons that Boston will win. People forget that Boston manhandled Miami this year and that Indiana, who would’ve gotten swept if Bosh hadn’t gotten hurt, still was able to fight despite lacking a lot in comparison with the Heat.
