Anthony Davis Trademarked His Unibrow

Anthony Davis, the likely top pick in this year’s NBA Draft, has made a curious business decision regarding the infamous patch of hair between his eyes. Reports CNBC: “Davis, known for his connected eyebrows, trademarked the phrases ‘Fear The Brow’ and ‘Raise The Brow’ earlier this month. ‘I don’t want anyone to try to grow a unibrow because of me and then try to make money off of it,’ Davis said. ‘Me and my family decided to trademark it because it’s very unique.’ Davis said that people frequently tell him to cut it, but Davis said he won’t because ‘everyone’s talking about it.’ During Davis’ freshman year at Kentucky, where he led the Wildcats to a National Championship, Davis didn’t capitalize on all the ‘Brow’ merchandise that was being sold due to NCAA rules which would compromise his eligibility. The school kept a close eye on merchants that selling any ‘Brow’ merchandise. ‘We sent a half a dozen cease-and-desist letters,’ said Jason Schlafer, the school’s associate athletic director for marketing. ‘But towards the end of the season, people were getting really creative.’ Schlafer said the brow alone was not enough to stop the cottage industry that emerged in Lexington, but anyone that put Anthony’s number (23), his name or his face in the design was contacted. One store, The Blue Zone, which sold ‘Brow’ T-shirts, was actually the first to trademark the phrase ‘Fear The Brow’ early in Kentucky’s basketball season. [...] Asked if a razor company could pay him to shave off his unibrow, Davis says that’s not going to happen. Said Davis: ‘I might have a commercial where I’m acting like I’m shaving it and then throw I’ll the razor down.’”

Why would he do that? That is like Lebron trademark his receding hairline. AD, there is a difference between being unique and being unsightly.

Hey, it’s always been about the MONEY!!! It would be a sin if someone else made a dime from a unique eyebrow!!! I’ve heard rumor that he is the only person in the world who has eyebrows that ALMOST connect to one another!!! We would not want to deprive him of the money derived from his uniqueness! Since he won’t be making enough to even live on playing basketball!!! I guess every player making a block next season will have to get permission and cut Davis a check!!! It almost makes me want him to fail like S Bowie!!! Remember? No matter how I rise above as an auditor I still can’t get my UNIQUE mole patented!!! I can’t figure out why? I’m older and much more experienced and worldly than Davis!!! Just sayin!!!

On to Lebron….Thank god he won a championship!!! Now maybe we won’t have to be bombarded with Lebron this and Lebron that!!! Really tired of hearing (I stopped reading about it) about James like he is the almighty! HE PLAYS A GAME!!! It’s not anyones fault and he could not help that he was born an unusual height, weight, and build!!! Most of his life (if not all) has been playing a GAME!!! Anyone is bound to get excellent if done every day for years and years! No further education!!! Just a game!!! To be put on a thrown is just crazy, unless it’s the thrown that I sit on daily…Another story….:):):)

Dont blame him, get your paper

He can do whatever he wants. If anyone ever had a uni brow I probably wouldn’t be his/her friend. But he’s gonna be rich so he can do whatever he wants. Not a good look.

I love it! Now all his haters (including some of the commentors on this article) will have to “bow to the brow”. It’s corageous to always embrace who you are! But you know who else is loving it? UK and NO. So why not trademark it? I don’t understand why some people hate on this kid who has accomplished so much in just 2 years. The funny thing is that the same people saying what he’s not going to do in the L are the same ones who said he wouldn’t be much in college and wouldn’t win a championship. He did all that and then some by being the leading scorer while shooting the 5th most shots on his team (vs. ball hogging), rebounding (versatility), and blocking (broke Shaq’s record). I had to say that because I don’t know if some of these commentors actually watched him dominate or did they just let ESPN sell them a bunch of hype of some other players. Others talk but THIS GUY GOT IT DONE!
