LeBron James Wants Dwyane Wade to Be More Aggressive

Dwyane Wade passed the torch in Miami to LeBron James this year, and rightfully so, but LBJ doesn’t want Wade taking a backseat completely on the offensive end. Especially not during the NBA Finals. From the NY Daily News: “On Wednesday, James came as close as he could to telling Wade to give him a hand without actually ordering his teammate to turn back the clock and give the Heat a performance out of the 2006 Finals, when he was MVP. ‘Sometimes I go to him and tell him I need one of those games from him,’ James said before the Heat’s practice. ‘He knows he still has it, too, but every player needs a little kick every now and then, no matter how time-tested they are. I continue to try to let him know how important he is to the team, which he should know, but he also needs to be D-Wade and not worry about deferring as much.’ Wade has been anything but the Wade of old during the 2012 playoffs, and that continued Tuesday when he needed 19 shots to produce 19 points, a ratio no player wants on his stat line. In the fourth quarter, Wade came up with seven points, matching James. Together, the two were outscored and outperformed by Kevin Durant, who scored 17 of his 36 points to lift the Thunder to its first Finals victory. […] ‘This is one game,’ James said. ‘We’ll make adjustments. This is going to be a long series. I’m not worried about the end of the series right now.’”

He should also want Bosh to get his @$$ inside the 3pt line and play with some fire. It’s the got d@mn finals.

  • irondan21

Translation, “Wade carry me I want a ring.”

  • Ldub

@irondan21….really? Have you been watching the Heat series? James has been carrying the team. And actually has been doing it all year. Wade does need to be more aggressive…but IDK if he can. He looks injured and seems to lack alot of…well…everything. (explosion, finishing ability, defense, leaping ability…damn near everything that makes d wade, d wade)….its sad to see. FAT LEVER…agreed. Bosh thinks he is Ray Allen now just cuz he hit 3 in game 7! We all know what the Heat NEED to do. Now its up to them to go out and do it. No excuses, no complaints. Everyone is dinged up and tired and sore. Youre in the finals. And even though its the 2nd year in a row…there is no guarantee you will be here again. Gotta take advantage of the opportunities. I would love for the Heat to win the series, but I think OKC is the team to take full advantage of this.

LeBron has been awesome. Bosh has to bruise it up. Wade has to look to ease the pressure on Bron. I know Bosh and Wade are injured… But a max of 6 games are left.

  • LA Huey

On Bosh getting hot from 3pt land in Game 7, Ryen Russillo said it best: It’s like when your buddy whose not funny makes a joke that’s actually humorous. It happens every once and awhile.

    Media/General Fans Outlook:

    Heat lose series – It’s LeBron’s fault.
Heat win series and LeBron gets MVP – Dwyane Wade deserved it.
Heat win series and LeBron doesn’t get MVP – he can’t do it without Wade.
Heat lose despite LeBron averaging 30-35 plus for series – he is overrated and can’t finish.

It’s such a joke how much people knock him and will continue to do so down the line.

    same sizzle.

  • ash

This is the same as Kobe telling Pau Gasol he needs to be more aggressive.

  • JMO

Sizzle quit cuz lebron fail too make a impact last in the finals .Lebron should this team after tht stunt he pull last yr. At least wade scoring in the fourth quarter lebron couldnt even do tht. you dont hear durant complain when he carrys the load.

  • bike

    Captain Obvious to the rescue.

  • tpathi1

wade must become more aggressive, and bron needs to spend more time on the defensive end shutting down KD!! And Bosh needs to realize that he is a PF! JMO you are making yourself out to be the exact type of media/general fan that sizzle is talking about. To this point, he is having one of the most spectacular playoff runs in the history of the game, regardless if the heat win or lose..that right there in itself is an accomplishment and worthy for praise!

  • LA Huey

LeBron’s got a load to carry on both offense and defense, it’s fair to assume his teammates should help him out.

  • http://blackamericaweb.com charliewinning

Sizzle pretty much sums it up.

  • bull22

wow LEBRON telling miami’s little darling that he is needed. hahahahhahahahhahhahahhahhahahaha

  • Ldub

JMO….you do realize that its perfectly fine for a player to carry a team for the 1st 3 qtrs and tire out right? Lets not forget that Lebron did this the entire playoffs last year! KD doesnt carry the team the entire game. He had 13 in first half, 6 in the 3rd qtr and 17 in the game. He basically didnt do anything for the 2nd and 3rd qtr. And without Westbrook or Harden…would OKC be as good? Durant can get hot, just like any other NBA player…but I wouldnt say that he carries the load. Its definitely split between him and Russ. If Russ doesnt produce (ala WADE) then they are gonna have just as tough time winning. Its a team game. Too many people wanna blame Lebron because he is so talented. Just like LA HUEY SAID….everyone needs to help out and do their part to their potential. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!

Ash beat me to it. Kobe tell Pau to be more aggressive. Kobe is a jerk. Kobe is a horrible teammate. Kobe always blames others for the team’s shortcomings. Kobe is calling out Pau. Lebron does it and he’s just being a supportive teammate instilling confidence in a struggling teammate. Stop it!

  • bike

    He meant in bed.

  • Ldub

I think when Kobe does it, he literally calls them out in anger. And you can even see it on the court and in the huddles. When Lebron does it…his demeanor is completely different. It comes across as being more supportive. His intent seems to be more on the lines of “ur better than so do it”. Kobe is more like “stop being a soft @$$ b!tch”.

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com albie1kenobi

they both called out their 2nd best player to step up; the difference is tone.
maybe the quotes themselves aren’t extremely different, but think about it: how often does kobe get in pau’s face when pau messed up? and how often does bron get in wade’s face when wade messed up? even though they could be saying similar things, the effect and reaction could be very different because of previous conditioning.

  • Ldub

damn albie…you didnt even bother to read my comment did you? lol

  • http://www.slamonline.com Nick Tha Quick

So tone suddenly matters when it comes to Kobe. When Mike berates his teammates for their poor play, he is the consumate winner imposing his will to win in his teammates. I get your point that how you say things matters to an extent. I just think that we’re all hypocrites in judging things certain players do or say. Conversely, I am almost sure Pau would not have turned into Wilt and dropped 30-20-8-6 on OKC had Kobe said, “Gasol of Barcelona, thou art tougher than Jarred Allen. In the paint, no man shall prevail against you. You shall smite them with the right hook and settle not for long jumpshots. Thou shalt dwell at the line and victory will be in thine hand.”

  • tpathi1

Kobe is a horrid teammate, whatever he does just doesnt work…for the last two seasons his team got bounced from the playoffs early and quickly, and he is the focal point of that team if I am not correct…how can you have a team with Pau Gasol Andrew Bynum and Artest and make them look like bums? Give that same team to Rondo and he would run the league!

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

“whatever he does just doesnt work”
Damn, if what Kobe does doesn’t work, then how do you feel about what LeBron does?
    Double Standard
Also this gem…”give that team to Rondo and he would rule the L.”
What? Pau and Drew and Artest are better than KG, PP, RR?
No, not really… So nice try.
What is rule the L? Like win 2 championships in 5 years with them? That type of rule?

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

    RA* not RR

  • basketballexpert

Look. D-Wade at 30 is still one of the best players in the league. Straight up Kobes in his later 30s so Wade has YEARS in him. Wade is their MVP AND NEEDS TO TAKE BACK THE LEADERSHIP OF THE HEAT AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE CUZ I SAID SO

  • tpathi1

@LakeShow, yes..give me Pau, Drew and Artest..If I am not correct they did beat the celtics in 7 the last time they met in the playoffs right? and Pau did outplay KG right (outplayed him to the point that you can make a legit case for him being the finals MVP..right?), and Artest is still a premiere defender in the leage (like Barkley said, id have him in my foxhole anyday…lol i dont know if i worded that properly). You can believe whatever you want, what do you think would happen if Lebron played with the Lakers squad??? Cmon man, the Lakers in the years they won those two rings, had the biggest player at every position. Bynum and Gasol get disinterested sometimes cause Kobe is a ballhog and rides his teammates when they don’t show up..newsflash he aint MJ..he proved that over and over and over again…Lebron ALWAYS had inferior teammates than Kobe until he came to the Heat..so far how is that working out? 2 finals appearances in two years and a chance to win this year, not too shabby.

  • tpathi1

im guessing you have Kobe somewhere in your top five ballers of all time..maybe even number 2…well let me tell you something…as a 19 year old kid (me) when the Lakers won their third ship and then lost their 4th in a row was the time the gloves came off when starting to evaluate Kobe. Whether it was his fault or not, Shaq was run out of town…they could have won 8 rings together, they could have been winning until this day! Before he was just a phony Jordan (who i got to see play on a regular basis being from chicago on tv) that I coulnd’t stand, because he literally jacked all his moves and swag. I thought Shaq would go down as Bill Russell, and Kobe as an all time great..but he screwed his legacy, instead he opted to go the other route.rebuild put up an 81 pt game and only win 2 more rings..and news flash..shaq was still a beast when he initially went to miami..the first year they went to the ECF and lost in 7 (i believe) cause Wade had a freak injury where he twisted his rib in game 5..the next year he got his 4th which could have very well been his 5th, which could have very well meant 5 for Kobe in 06. The reality is he got his 5th in 2010, he was on his way to have more rings than many many ballers, but i feel like he chose not to..and for that he will be always labeled as a bad teammate and just young!

  • tpathi1

Kobe and the Lakers elected to take years from his ‘prime’ to rebuild a team around him..LBJ on the other hand, recognized that right now he is in his prime and has only put himself in a position to win multiple titles right away..whether he wins them or not, he will go down as the smarter player and individual than Kobe. All of this gets forgotten about or not mentioned because of the “decision” and that catastrophe. Also, the Laker bigs been talking about getting more touches this whole year, Rondo would have definately gotten them more involved, more than he did his Celtics this year. You realize that maybe outside of PP that KG and RA are role players NOW right? Right now, i would definately take the trio of artest, bynum and gasol over RA KG and PP..if you were smart i think you would too!
