NY Knicks Reportedly Interested in Ray Allen, Jason Terry and OJ Mayo


Knicks’ players Jeremy Lin and Steve Novak recently won an arbitration case that’ll allow them to be re-signed this offseason with no effect on the team’s salary cap, and so New York will maintain its full mid-level exception to give to…somebody. The NY Daily News reports that Jason Terry, OJ Mayo and Ray Allen are just a few names the Knicks are tossing around: “Jason Terry, O.J. Mayo and Ray Allen top the Knicks’ free-agent wish list for shooting guards. Allen wants a big offer, of course, but he’ll also favor the team that shows him the most love when it comes knocking on his door on July 1. Looks like the Knicks, who don’t have a lot of money to offer Allen, will have to out wine-and-dine the Bulls and Heat.”

    whats wrong about the 8th seed in regards of a change in system and this many injuries. this yr was an improvement to the last year. you cant change a losing franchise into a winner within one or two seasons. i see the franchise on the right track again even though dolan commited some mistakes (melo trade). just mind my words, nxt season the knicks will be a 50+ team.

    Little that Ya Know….OJ Mayo is not just a Shooter, The man can also play play Defense.. his ability to Block as a SG is ridiculous not to mention he can steal & hold players from scoring many points…he would want $$$ but if he wants to win a Chip , he’ll come for 5-6 mill. but if we cant get him… id Sign JKidd along With Lamar Odom. Shump might Be out the Entire 2013 season(best for him).

    45 wins tops, there needs to be a Amare trade, I could see a scenario with the Sixers (Iggy and Thad for Amare— Philly gets a top 10 PF who would average 20 plus on a run and gun Sixers squad, while NY gets a top 5 perimeter defender (Iggy) and a promising PF (Thad) NYK would be a defensive Juggernaut with Chandler, Shump, and Iggy, with Thad and JR off the bench… Melo gets the green light which is what he needs to be well Melo)).

    On top of that they can swing Fields for a pass first PG (ie Luc Ridenour)

    -Mind you I don’t know if the payroll would work out in these scenarios.

    There are so may more Knick haters on this site than there are fans that it’s comical. Y’all are more obsessed with every thing Knick related than any fan here, and the closest thing any of you ever came to meeting a NYer or a Knick fan is the web. And FYI, nothing is more annoying than lame @ss Bulls fans–mainly DRose groupies– that spend most of their time worrying about what moves the Knicks are making, or what NY media is talking about. Is there nothing going on in your own city?

    I actually thought the knicks could have beat any other team in the playoffs except for miami. It was just tough luck they had to face them in the first round. I always liked Melo and i hope him and the knicks will do better next season.

    Give me a Break with this Knicks title talk they barely won their first playoff game of the decade… Its a shame that the Bobcats have just as many playoff wins as them and as a Melo fan I know Melo cant lead a team to the promise land by himself.. He’s not a strong enough leader to me, If you really watched Chauncey was more a leader in Denver than Melo.

    This team is hilarious. Yes they were a better defensive team once Woodson was at the helm but they don’t need more offense IMO. They have enough to contend. What they really need is time to gel and with the injuries and line up changes during the past season it’s kind of hard to make a fair assumption on the team. Give them an offseason to prepare and we’ll see what happens.

    Co-sign Charliewinning, these dudes are butthurt when it comes to the Knicks for some reason. Now getting back on topic. Knicks need to trade STAT somehow. I liked that Iggy trade stated above. He is a defensive liability, ill admit that, but I doubt his bloated contract could be moved. Knicks should let go of J.r smizzy and sign a more productive SG, until my man Shump heals up .
