Pistons Trade Ben Gordon, Future Pick to Bobcats for Corey Maggette


According to Yahoo! Sports‘ Adrian Wojnarowski, the Detroit Pistons have traded Ben Gordon and a protected future first-round pick to the Charlotte Bobcats for Corey Maggette. The deal will save the Pistons approximately $14.7 million on the two years remaining on Gordon’s contract, who is scheduled to make $25.6 million over the term of his deal. Maggette has $10.9 million left on an expiring contract.

    FINALLY Detroit makes a move. Good on Dumars for cleaning up some of his mess from a few years ago. I don’t think there are many Pistons fans who are sorry to see Ben Gordon go. Hopefully the Bobcats enjoy watching Gordon dribble off his foot. Or score a lot of points sometimes. He can do both.

    hey guys Ben gordon sucks. he only shoots jumpers and doesnt get to the rim. he is very ineffecient shooter. my god mj what a horrible trade

    Long time pistons fan and I watch all the games Ben gordon is turnover prone and passes poorly. He can hit outside shots but he will need to take about 15-20 shots to get about 20 points. He is just not an effecient shooter and doesn’t take many free throws. Ben gordon is also very undersized for the 2 guard and Ben Gordon can’t defend a lick. Ben Gordon is now the highest paid Bobcat! does that make sense to anyone? So ben gordon should be the best player on ur team if he is getting paid the most! Thats a scary thought for a Bobcat fan!     cosign @CABOOSE Agreed, I too think it will be Barnes; maybe there will be a swap between Washington or Cleveland to get him? Barnes at #2 is too high. I’d take MKG, Beal, and Robinson before Barnes at second overall.

    @london lewis it makes sense to the bobcats. ben gordon is the definition of overpaid yet he`s going to be coming off the BENCH for a team who won all but 7 games last season. yeh, the bobcats are on their way up. gordon is a one-trick pony. this is a bad long-tern financial move for the cats.

    To all the tards saying that this was a bad financial move for the ‘Cats, they needed to spend money to reach the salary floor next year lest be penalized. Basically, the Pistons gave them a decent 1st rounder for an incredibly worthless Maggette and they’ll probably flip BG’s contract for more picks next year.
