Report: Dwyane Wade’s Ex-Wife Charged With ‘Attempted Child Abduction’

According to an Associated Press report released today, Dwyane Wade’s ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches-Wade, has been arrested for “attempted child abduction” after forcefully neglecting pre-determined visitation rules for the pair’s sons, allegedly locking the house when Wade’s sister attempted to pick up the children in Chicago and refusing to open the door. Tim Reynolds has the story, via The Miami Herald: “Dwyane Wade has asked a Chicago judge to suspend his ex-wife’s right to visitation with their two children after a weekend incident that delayed the boys’ return to his custody and led to her arrest. Wade’s attorney, James Pritikin, filed an emergency motion and appeared in court Tuesday to have it heard, hours before the Miami Heat guard was to play in Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. A hearing was set for June 26, which would be the date of Game 7 if the Heat and Thunder extend the series to its limit. Wade told The Associated Press that his sons have been with him in Miami since about 6 a.m. Sunday – “That’s what mattered most to me, getting them here to be with me on Father’s Day,” he said – and that the incident has not adversely affected his play in the championship series. Siohvaughn Funches-Wade was charged with two counts of attempted child abduction, two counts of unlawful visitation interference and one count of resisting arrest, Cook County Sheriff’s spokesman Frank Bilecki told The AP on Tuesday. Another woman at the home at the time, Nadgee Alarcon, was charged with one count of resisting arrest, Bilecki said. All the charges are misdemeanors. Funches-Wade posted $10,000 bond on Monday, Bilecki said, and is due back in court in August. It was not known if she had an attorney.”

I’ve said it once and i’ll say it again. F**k wrong with these hoes nowadays?

  • Phil da Windmill

these hoes have been lost for awhile now real women are a rare artifact most are carbon copies of reality tv and commercial rap.

  • http://Slamonline.com Gab

    You know she’s a hoe?

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

@Gab yeah she’s a hoe. In 2012 hoes are running around rampant these days

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

She was his wife. They were high school sweethearts and she allowed him to sleep on her couch when he had nowhere else to go. She was with him when he had nothing, and when he made it big. I imagine getting tossed to the side after that sort of thing can do terrible things to a woman’s mind.
I”m not defending her actions, she seems to be wilding. But, I can understand how her hurt feelings have led to terrible behavior.

Uh, we’re not exactly a picnic. Not that my opinion has anything to do with DWade but all these knucklehead, false wannabe men out here now makes me scared for my daughter when she gets older. Bunch of baby making/neglecting, rapper wannabes who couldn’t head a household. We have a bad habit of jumping opportunities to bash women. Lots of single parent households out there missing men. DWade is not representative of all single fathers.

  • http://Slamonline.com Gab

@Kevin: Judging by how you carry yourself on here I’m sure you think most females are. I can’t converse with dudes who use the term b#tch or hoe as a substitute for the word women. It’s one of the reasons our society is going down the tubes. Too many lil boys angry with women and they don’t even know why.

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

@Gab Nah dont play that card with me. I was raised by a single mother and grew up around nothing but women. I know the difference between a woman and a hoe/b**ch. Just like people want to say there’s too many boys that dont want to be men, there a girls who dont want to be women. It goes both ways, females get upset when they hear the term but dont realize why they were called that in the first place. It’s not like people bash women for no reason…at least on my part. There’s always a reason

reading some of the comments above tells me people never had a real relationship or just stupid she was with wade when he was a nobody now he’s hollywood how do u think a woman will act when u take there kids from them slam leave this news for tmz smh.

  • http://Slamonline.com Gab

If you don’t mind me asking, what is your ethnic background? I’m really curious.

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

Nah I dont mind im black.

  • http://Slamonline.com Gab

The reason I asked is because I find your sentiments to be very common. It’s just weird when, as a black man, I fully admit that we haven’t exactly been in a position to be as critical of women as so many young black men are. It’s funny because there are more of us who were raised by single women than damn near any other group of people in this country. Of those raised in single parent households, a ridiculous amount have little to no contact with fathers. More young black women are on college campuses than are young black men. In gang filled black neighborhoods, the vast majority of the people shooting up the hood and selling the drugs are men. Now, I’ve been caught up with sneaky conniving woman or two in my life but if you are going to compare us to them then it’s no contest. I hate to say it but our women are really the reason we survive in this country, so as a father it pains me when young black guys take any isolated incident to start bashing women. As a black man I just don’t think the widespread woman hating is warranted. I’m a lot more worried about who my daughter will bring home one day than I am about my son.

  • http://thahiphopcorner.com Kevin

You know what Gab, I totally agree. Like I said I was raised by mom by herself so I know the importance of women, I wouldnt be here today if it wasnt for my mother. So I dont like to come off as women basher or be too hard on them, cause I know their importance. Im 21 so a lot of times my opinons and thoughts on women come from what i’ve seen during my life and my firsthand experiences, sadly i’ve seen a lot of women act and do things that unfortunatley lead guys to have such opinons and thoughts about them. But at the same time I know better than to judge the entire female race off a select group of women that actually do negative things.

  • http://Slamonline.com Gab

I feel you. In general I think we’ve all been guilty of making sweeping judgements of entire groups of people. We’ve all got to work on not doing that, even the saints who claim they never do it. I used to have a similar way of thinking about women when I was your age. Hindsight is always 20/20, ya know?

  • RunNGun

Sad… I feel bad for the kids. Parents who use children as weapons and shields against each other should have their parental rights terminated.

Good stuff Gab and Kev, way to keep it above the belt…

how do you know he toss her aside when he made it big. lol apparently she was bangin some next man as per the divorce proceedings….

  • http://www.fullc0urtpress.com KHOLIDAY05

First time I’ve ever seen a respectable debate on here lol. D-Wade’s ex is probably feeling some type of a way now that he’s moved on, but she needs to do the same and not mix the kids up in any madness. Sometimes people outgrow each other no matter how long you’ve been together. It happens! It’s life. Move on respectfully.

  • http://blackamericaweb.com charliewinning

I wish people didn’t uses children as pawns. It’s sad. No amount of money these kids will inherent from their dad can substitute the stability of two emotionally sound parents. I hope everything works out for those kids, and all kids of divorce really (as unrealistic as it is). Co-sign Gab on everything. Kev, you’re a reasonable dude. Good stuff.

  • Treshiq

hmm shocked to see some of this banter on this website. I agree with AllenP this lady is still in Love with Dwade and obviously using the children as pawns. She was hurt and I imagine she is still dealing mentally with that break up!! WITH THAT SAID @GAB i’m so tired of hearing sistas talk about single homes, sorry trifling men blah blah…ugh it makes me want to vomit. whn my Mom MARRIED my Dad she knew he was a stable man with a job who had a “man sense” to take care of family.. She knew him, had her own job place to live and what not( had her own STUFF together)..They DECIDED to get married, THEN have children and raise my sisters and I! They are STILL married till this day. I’m tired of WOMEN laying ( yeah unprotected, having a good time with no thought of the consequences) UNDER these trifling men, KNOWING they have no real commitment to them.. a BOY FRIEND can leave you any day of the week..try being a respectful woman and falling in love with a man getting married and having a solid foundation. I’m not gonna bash the Thug, the wanna berapper, the sorry low down dude, why WAS HE SORRY WHEN YOU LAID WITH HIM?!?!?!?..probably!!! Get up ,get your education do better, find better, love better and stop making these ZEROS fathers…I’m not saying abort your child…or give it up to grandma to raise..I’m saying BE MORE RESPONSIBLE…Personal responsiblity ppl. With that said. Dwade’s ex wife has turned into a ngihtmare ad I HOPE they can find a way to be civil for thier children’s sake. Divorce is difficult if you parents get along…a nightmare if they don’t.

  • Treshiq

That’s our issue in the black race with fartherlessnes and until we own up to it ( speaking as a woman) then we will continue the cycle which is becoming a detriment to our scociety ( and i wasn’t going at you Gab, sorry if came off as that way. i was just saying)
