Charlotte Bobcats Reportedly Interested in Signing Kris Humphries

If Kris Humphries gets moved as part of the proposed monster trade for Dwight Howard, the Charlotte Bobcats would be interested in signing him to a one-year deal (which, it should be noted, Humphries’ agent is strongly against.) Reports the Observer: “An NBA source confirms the Bobcats would be interested in Humphries, but only if he signs a one-season contract, rather than the multi-year deal he reportedly prefers. The Magic, Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers are involved in complex talks that would involve multiple players and draft picks. Various reports have the Cavaliers accepting Humphries, in return for a future first-round pick from the Nets, in order to make a deal work under the salary cap. The Bobcats could take Humphries, but only if he’s playing under a short-term deal, the source confirmed. Humphries, 27, averaged 13.8 points, 11.1 rebounds and shot 48 percent from the field last season. He’s an unrestricted free agent but can make more per season re-signing with the Nets, even in a sign-and-trade, than signing outright with another team.”

If I’m running an Eastern Conference team, I offer Humphries a 3 year contract ($20 mil maybe) just to screw up the Dwight to the Nets trade.

  • Sam J

No you can’t screw it up because we want this dwight ish to be over

Now, that folks know how important dude is to this proposed deal, it might result in teams threatening to sign him outright as leverage for some more pieces in this Dwight trade

this isnt right. humphries is better and more valuable than brook lopez yet he`s supposed to lose money just so dwight and deron play together in bk this coming season. if I was humphries I`d say no go and make dwight play somewhere else

i don’t understand how a consistent double-double machine can’t get a decent contract offer from anyone. kardashian kurse

MJ has messed up the Bobcats, he was better off trading for Joe Johnson and signing Camby and some other veterans to put a decent team in NC.

@dsleepy I don`t understand either. dude is a double double waiting to happen and he plays hard every night. he deserves at least a 3 year deal. he`s earned it.

@dsleepy and @ash, he may be worth it, but he makes questionable decisions…. like MARRYING Kim Kardashian. I wouldn’t trust him to make a good outlet pass for 3 years either if you were reckless with your own life! NOO THANKS!

  • LA Huey

Dennis Rodman made questionable decisions off the court. As did/do many other excellent professional athletes. Just saying.
