Chicago Bulls to Sign Nate Robinson on 1-Year Deal

Chicago Bulls fans have been in an understandably foul mood all summer long, but Nate Robinson will soon arrive to provide some laughs. And presumably, to play a little ball as well. Per SI: “The deal, which agent Aaron Goodwin said should be finalized ‘barring unforeseen problems,’ will likely pay the eight-year veteran the veteran’s minimum of $1.2 million for next season. Robinson, who regained his form as a reserve for Golden State last season after playing just four games in the second half of the 2010-11 campaign with Oklahoma City, will join veteran point guard Kirk Hinrich in the Bulls’ Derrick Rose-less backcourt after his recent return. Hinrich, who signed a two-year, $8 million deal last week with the Bulls, spent his first seven seasons in Chicago before he was traded to Washington in June 2010 and later traded to Atlanta in Feb. 2011. […] Robinson, the 5-foot-9 guard who is still best known for his three All-Star Slam Dunk Contest championships, averaged 11.2 points (42.4 percent shooting overall), 23.5 minutes, 1.2 steals and a career-high 4.5 assists per game with Golden State last season. If the signing does indeed take place, this will be the 28-year-old’s fifth team since the 2009-10 campaign after he played previously with New York, Boston, Oklahoma City, and the Warriors.”
