Jacque Vaughn, Michael Curry and Lindsey Hunter Finalists for Magic Coaching Job

The Orlando Magic today trimmed their list of prospective head coaches to three candidates: Spurs assistant Jacque Vaughn, Sixers assistant Michael Curry and Bulls player development coach Lindsey Hunter. The Orlando Sentinel has the details: “Michael Curry, Lindsey Hunter and Jacque Vaughn have advanced to the next stage of the Orlando Magic’s search for a new head coach, the Orlando Sentinel has learned from an NBA source with knowledge of the team’s plans. Magic general manager Rob Hennigan already has conducted first-round interviews with Curry, Hunter and Vaughn, and each member of the trio will be interviewed by Magic CEO Alex Martins in the near future.”

Jacque Vaughn can teach JJ Reddick the proper way to fall after being crossed over.

Looks like the terrible role players on terrible teams from the early 00s have all found a way to congregate for a head coaching job on the team in the worst position heading in to next year. Michael Curry is a f*king joke.

Lindsey Hunter was great on the Bulls coaching staff, he deserves this and I feel he’ll be great.

It’s kinda sad when all Jacque Vaughn is remembered for is getting crossed up silly by AI. Yet, this doesn’t come close to the Antonio Davis.

Good to see some new names in the mix. I think Vaughn or Hunter (who could probably still kill it with his full court press at whatever age he is) would be great choices given whom they’ve played for/assisted under…

So role players from the 00′s get serious looks but a star from the 80′s -90′s (Ewing) can’t get a fair shake?

Lindsey Hunter will be one of those coaches with no NBA head coaching experience that will have success because of his passion & knowledge of the game. Also he displayed great leadership on every team he played for. Furthermore, I believe last yr champion Miami Heat coach got his 1st shot with no previous head coaching experience. I’m just sayin…..

Orlando should NOT consider Curry based on the job he did in Detroit. Jacque Vaughn would probably be the safer bet coming from Spurs. How come Patrick Ewing is not a candidate?
