Jason Kidd Close to Re-Signing with Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are hoping that Jason Kidd will find the Fountain of Youth as they are close to re-signing Kidd to a three-year, $9 million deal that will keep him in a Dallas uniform until the age of 42—this according to ESPN.com. Kidd was rumored to be desired by the Knicks, but decided to stay put and more than likely finish his career the same place he started it: “Jason Kidd appears prepared to end his career where he started it — with the Dallas Mavericks. The 39-year-old is closing in on a multiyear deal, a source close to the situation said. The source said the deal is not completed, but barring any snags, Kidd will close out his career alongside Dirk Nowitzki. Sources with knowledge of the deal specifics told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein that Kidd’s contract will be a three-year deal worth $9 million, taking him to age 42 if he plays it all the way out.”
