Jason Kidd Was Reportedly Arrested For DWI in Hamptons Sunday Morning

Jason Kidd, fresh off signing a three-year deal with the NY Knicks, reportedly found himself in some trouble Sunday morning, when, according to South Hampton Patch, he was arrested and charged with a DWI. More details should emerge soon, the report states: “Jason Kidd, who just signed with the New York Knicks, was arrested on Sunday morning on an alleged drunken driving charge, according to Southampton Town police. Details are still emerging, but Southampton Town police confirmed that the basketball star was arrested during the midnight shift. Kidd, 39, was arraigned on a misdemeanor DWI charge on Sunday morning in Southampton Town Justice Court and released on his own recognizance. Sag Harbor attorney Eddie Burke Jr. said he was on his way to speak with Kidd. ‘We await further discovery from the district attorney’s office,’ Burke said. Kidd signed a three-year, $9.5 million deal with the Knicks on Thursday.”

I wonder if this had anything to do with him finding out yesterday that he was backing up Felton instead of Lin.

@spit: it’s slightly worse when you get older, but it’s awful at any age. he could’ve killed someone.

  • IndyB

He’s too old for that type of stupidity. What a moron.

One week as a Knick and Jason Kidd has already developed a drinking problem

  • Donte

Kidd is just trying to fit in! All jokes aside this is mad inconsiderate. But it’s a joke if he is 3rd string.

You’re a millionaire, age 39 should know better. You couldn’t call a cab? What would it be $100-$150? Heck of alot cheaper than what you’re goin to pay now for a DWI. Very stupid!

  • O

I remember how Chris Childs had a drinking problem, but was still nice on the court. Soon as he went sober he fell OFF! Keep doing what you doing, J. Just make sure it “helps” whatever you do on the court…

Yeah J, keep risking killing someone because you drive drunk. Nothing wrong with risking a lil vehicular homicide as long as you play well on a basketball court SMFH

Thats why I don’t go to bars, unless I go with someone who isnt drinking.. It’s kinda a trap, go to a bar, consume 2 drinks, have a chance of being arrested on your way home.. Hopefully he’ll learn from his mistake, and he IS rich, so shouldn’t effect him too much for a 1st offense..

DWI’s at 39 is for losers.

  • http://slamonline BossTerry

lol at omphalos…. Shucks, the secret is out now, for uncanny athletic performance, stay drunk….. See Keith Closs…

Being Raymond Felton’s backup is depressing.

  • LA Huey

This aint his first time on the blotter.

I saw a pic of him being carried out the club. He could barely stand. He needs to cut off any friend who allowed him to get behind a wheel. Im glad he didn’t kill anyone, even if O thinks driving drunk is funny.

  • http://Slamonline.com nbk

    O is an idiot

  • Mvpitzki

@ Derby, I never said anything bout him starting, the reason he changed his mind about resigning with dallas was because he wanted to be a backup and mentor lin in new york. Otherwise he coulda gon to new jersey. Not getting Lin results in bad news for him.

hey O u remember when Shawn Kemp started having his issues with alcohol and drugs, players on the trailblazers starting worrying that the man would die on the basketball court. He only got a DWI since he didnt blow..i gurantee that man was over the limit. Buddy needs to stop acting like a “kid” and grow up!

Does the NBA have a program like the NFL where they provide free cab service or rides to athletes late at night?
