Jeff Green Reached ‘Agreement in Principal’ to Return to Boston Celtics

The 25-year old Jeff Green will re-sign with the Boston Celtics on a multi-year deal (terms are currently undisclosed), after missing all of last season due to a heart condition. Per the Boston Globe: “Green, 25, missed all of last season after surgery to repair an aortic root but spent considerable time in Boston rehabilitating and even sat on the bench during some home games. That treatment and the fact the Celtics signed Green to a one-year $9 million deal before the injury and did not give him the $5.9 million qualifying offer and then allowed him to be an unrestricted free agent was critical in Green’s return. ‘We’ve reached agreement in principal for him to return,’ agent David Falk said. ‘You see a situation like Jeff’s where there’s a tremendous level of goodwill that been built up over the last year and half. I’ve got a long memory. I remember people who treat me well and I remember people who don’t.’ When asked if Green was official, Ainge told the Globe: ‘It’s looking good. We intend to sign him. We anticipate it being (official) by Wednesday.’”

The terms I heard were 4 years and 40 Million. Jeff Green is promising, but the dude just had heart surgery and that’s a lot to invest.

Boston’s made some good moves this offseason.

More people than you think have had this surgery. I believe Ronny turiaf had the same procedure. Not saying he produced great results this year as genus just a pawn in the heat team but it’s a good pickup for Boston and out future once PP34 goes. Hope he can get solid minutes at the 3 and 4 spots. I believe him hanging out with the team and year he would of studied docs gameplan and will be more comfortable playing.

I don’t think he has the heart to live up to expectations.
