Jordan Hill, Lakers Agree to 2-Year, $8M Contract

The Lakers took care of another important need by signing backup big man Jordan Hill to a two-year, nearly $8 million contract. Hill’s agent told the L.A. Times that he received larger offers—the TWolves were reportedly an aggressive suitor—but Hill ultimately decided to stay because he hopes to win a title: “Steve Nash logged his first assist as a Laker more than three months before the season opener. His presence was among the primary factors that lured Jordan Hill back to the Lakers on Friday as the reserve power forward agreed to a two-year contract for almost $8 million. ‘Jordan was excited about the fact that Steve Nash decided to join the Lakers and the prospect of winning a championship in L.A.,’ said Kevin Bradbury, Hill’s agent. Hill will further fortify the Lakers’ bench after forward Antawn Jamison agreed this week to a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum of $1.4 million.”

Hill staying with the Lakers is a good move. Good to see Hill bounce back after being considered “a flop”. The Lakers gained a former lottery pick who brings toughness and rebounding…now only if Michael Redd would join the purple and gold and banner number 17 would soon follow.

Good the keep him, his energy level and rebounding is great for the Lakers off the bench.

There’s only one more hole to fill, and it might be Eyenga who fills it.

Very good move by the lakers Hill is a key piece to beating OKC in the west. Brings defense size and rebouding off the bench.

Another good move by the Lakers. I think They should start this dude and bring pau off the bench. Pretty good price for him too considering other young big men contracts recently.

LAL slowly getting a solid bench……If only Grant Hill came to LAL :( Sacre, Hill, Ebanks, Goudelock(??), Blake……I just hope we get a decent SG backup soon…..

nbk troll: really? Start Hill and bring Pau off the bench? Come on. And I am a big fan of Hill.

^^^ yea dude ofcourse pau is better at the position then hill, but a bench rotation with pau, antwan jamison, and ebanks is tough for any team. Creates space for bynum to work. The spurs do it everyday with ginobli.
