Ashe, Williams sisters, Althea. That pretty much covers the entire history of black tennis according to most Americans and the sports media.
Black folks do not participate in golf, tennis and swimming in large numbers. Hell, after a certain point there are very few of us playing baseball.
Nobody says “Oh, the white kids tease the black kids and make it difficult for them to participate.” Sure that happens, but who points to that as the reason why black numbers are low? That is crazy to me.

i did think over what you are saying. But we are talking about basketball right? Not scientific discoveries, politics, social leadership etc. BASKETBALL! Part of the game of basketball is trash talking. I know it sounds ridiculous, but how else can you explain the lack of American born (white/caucasion) basketball players in the NBA. My theory (this is only a theory) is that its cause they get ridiculed from playing seriously at a very young age. I am not white, so im not speaking for anyone, its just my opinion. However, why are there so many europeans in the league? I mean this is America right, we are the dominant basketball country (black white yellow brown red included). Quick examples…in the eighth grade i was on my schools bball team and some chicago school from the inner city came to play us. Everyone on that team were black, and they literally went into the layup line without basketballs and each and every last one of them grabbed the rim. I think one person touched the rim on our team back then lol. What do u think our whole team was thinking? We got waxed that game lost by like 50. We was good tho as a team, we won our conference. That day tho, personally i knew that i should give up on any real NBA hoop dreams.

1- He isn’t getting a pass. What’s hysterical is that everyone is bashing him and butchering him while yelling “and what’s worse, everyone is giving him a pass”
2- If James Harden or Anthony Davis said “yeah, it’s tough not getting playing time, but I’ll just have to power through and find my spots in limited minutes” then no one would bat an eyebrow because it’s a truthful statement! It’s tough not playing and it’s toughing proving you deserve to play when you are used to get 40 minutes a game and now you’re getting five. But Kevin Love says that? Oh my god, how awful!!!! We can’t let that white little shmuck get away with that!
This should have been a non-issue SLAM post. He was asked a question, he vented a bit, then got an article written negatively about him for answering that question. Seems like NBA journalism 101 to me. Yet, someone, despite responding to an article attacking Love, people are suddenly going after him ravenously yelling about race in the media.
Seems like its less about race and more about Kevin Love.
See it how you see it, but it’s getting kind of ridiculous from my end.

Another example: I am at the playground, and some european guy is there and we are playing ball. This guy you can tell just came to America within the year. He wasn’t good or anything, but he still had the audacity to try these crazy behind the back layups in traffic; it never worked, but he kept on doing it and doing it until one time it worked on some young lame. I am contending that most people the age of 21 (which was the age i was when this happened) would have been stopped trying to do that sorry move; but he (not knowing any better) kept on at it. I am sure that by now if he still lives in America has given up on that move. Confidence does a lot of things for the haves as well as the have nots. I know this ish sounds crazy but someone else explain to me why there are so many foreign players in the league then.

Who else is venting on TEAM USA about playing time?
Name another person who has vented? Not complained about the difficulty of getting a rhythm with fewer minutes, but actually vented that they should be getting more time?
I can think of no one.

Allen- Has anyone asked James Harden? Aren’t you usually the guy defending players for answering honest questions? I did read “I played in 2010 and I’m better” and if that’s overbearing then you got soft overtime. I did not read “Coach K better give me minutes or there is going to be problems.” Lebron, Wade, Amare, Bosh, and Melo constantly remind everyone that they were angry they didn’t get any playing time in 2004 and that every Olympic game after that is simply to prove their coach and doubters wrong. Whiners?
Also, still doesn’t justify any racial angle, but maybe that’s been dropped. The idiotic “white people aren’t good at basketball because black kids scare them” crowd has kind of shifted the stupidity far into the other spectrum.

LA – LOL ..jewish people run the media and they like to keep the money within their community a la bhamitva’s and the such, i heard those kids have an obligation to pay back whomever contributes to their funds when they get older and more successful

^ I’m sorry sir but you’re pathetic. Doesn’t mean that because you and you’re friends were scared to play ball with black dudes meaning this is a societal problem now. Not all white people are like you meaning they don’t let the fear or the sh*t talk get to them if it ever was there. Intimidation should never hinder you from doing what you want especially in something that’s supposed to be fun like basketball. I know a few white kids that did get sh*t at first when they started playing but after they sucked it up the black dudes and every other minority meanie respected them. The main reason Black people dominate basketball is because it’s the #1 sport they like to play day in and out, and quite frankly, their naturally athletic ability helps.

Just curious man you’re from Chicago? I know we live in probably the most segregated city but we always have a diverse group of people to hang with, at east where I’m from. And where in the South are you talking about playing lol if people don’t want to come down it’s mainly because they’re afraid for their lives not because they’re intimidated.

chubachuchi, im from chicago and im not speaking for myself. All i did was pose an extended reason as to why Kevin Love is not getting sht on by the media for sounding like a white version of T.O. There aren’t enough white people in ball, the media won’t bash that guy until he cheats on his wife or something. When i was talkin about going to the south side of chicago, i was exaggerating. But you tell me then why there are more europeans in the NBA than there are white americans. Thats the only logical reason i can think of (cause many got teased at a young age haha that still sounds funny tho). AllenP did say cause their coaches and such tell them to concentrate on other things, but if you want something bad enough dont you go for it? I say its cause they getting teased but it all comes down to the mentality getting attacked at an early age; and that can get crushed at an early age a la teasing or losing or parents telling you to do something else.

What I see RIGHT NOW is an article (on NBA dot com) bashing Kevin Love, and everyone responding bashing Kevin Love. I also see a lot of blogs jumping on the subject and doing the same thing. And yet, somehow, Kevin Love is getting away squeaky clean by being white. Wha?
Could it be, people liked him in the past because he was an underdog story and they ignored some of his self entitlement, and now that he has been accepted as an all-star, people are tired of it?
Or could it be similar to what happened to Lebron, Kobe, and Wade, how people loved them so much because they were new and awesome, that people ignored their self entitled attitude until they no longer were new and people got tired of it?
