Philadelphia 76ers Acquire Dorell Wright From Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade Dorell Wright to the Philadelphia 76ers for a future draft pick. MercuryNews.com has the details: “Trading Wright, the starting small forward the last two seasons, frees up $4 million off the Warriors’ salary cap. They now have about $8 million of space before going over the luxury tax. That will help Golden State address other needs, such as front line help, a backup point guard and a veteran scorer off the bench. Golden State had been shut out of the free agency period thus far, largely because of limited salary cap space. But this trade allows for the Warriors to use their mid-level exception and bi-annual exceptions, or take on some $8 million of salary in a trade.”

I like this trade for both teams. Golden state unloads a superfluous swing man and makes igudala expendable.

I just hope Golden Stare make playoffs. Don’t look the same without Ellis in te lineup though.

Headline should read, “6ers move from playoff team to a top tier elite team”

cosign shifty. it’s weird seeing them as this almost complete team with an actual center. they used to have just tweeners and combo guards

Bummer. Some fans had been expecting him to be unloaded, but I didn’t know why. Guess his contract was the easiest to move, and we did have a bit of a crowd at the 3. I like Dorrell, too. Classy guy, helped out the community a bunch, and was a good teammate. Good shooter, and connected on a couple nice half court alley-oops. We hardly knew you, Dorrell. Wish him the best of luck with the Sixers. Come to think of it, I have even more of a reason to watch the 6ers some. They may not be contenders, but they have a nice, young, talented and athletic team up in Philly.

“Team didnt look the same without Monte?”
Kid… KlayThompson avg’d dbl-figures after he left. Monte was great and all but he was holding up production from a whole different standpoint. Klay could avg 15points a game off random jumpshots alone. now add the easy buckets off steals, backdoor cuts and now add when he drives the ball to the hole. He scores so easy, once everyone got a look live action, monte was expendible. Bro… I love Monte’s game but I hardly miss him and the same goes for Dorrell. Bc if Barnes can pull off the level of develop Klay has, this is gonna be a sick duo surrounded by Curry, Bogut, and dbl-dbl machine David Lee. I’ll go record saying this team will scrap up one of the bottom 3seeds.
