Shannon Brown, Suns Agree to 2-Year, $7M Contract


After courting Eric Gordon, OJ Mayo and Courtney Lee, the Suns have re-signed Shannon Brown to a two-year, $7 million deal, with half of the second-year salary guaranteed:

    True! As a Laker, he had a defined role, where he had the green light to shoot. Not only was he gaining confidence in his game but he could’ve put himself in a position to earn more than what he’s making now, the way he was developing. Now he has to fight for minutes on a team that’s not even going to make the playoffs…I remember when he was an McDonalds All American, he never really blossomed at Michigan State and his NBA career before he came to the Lakers was nothing to write home about. Seeing that he was a “throw in player” in the trade that brought Adam Morrison to the Lakers, Shannon outplayed the expectations and made himself relavant, being part of 2 championship teams. He was learning from Kobe & he was getting open looks b/c of the personell the Lakers had. I’m still pulling for Shannon but it looks like he made a mistake by leaving L.A or at least going to phoenix.

    Horry Jr’s ability to run people off has been well-chronicled. But how about Pau making Shannon Brown disappear after that rumored “incident” with his fiance? I thought Bunk was going to find Shannon in one of the vacants down in Baltimore.
