Timberwolves Trade Wayne Ellington to Grizzlies for Dante Cunningham

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to swap guard Wayne Ellington for forward Dante Cunningham. Via ESPN1500.com, which first reported the deal:  “An official announcement should come in the near future after the paperwork is submitted to the NBA. Cunningham, 25, is set to make $2.09 million in 2012-13. His contract contains a team option for the 2013-14 season. Versatile enough to play both forward positions, Cunningham is an above-average defender. He made a very favorable in-person impression on the Wolves in March when he scored 13 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds in a Grizzlies win. He played power forward in that game. Portland originally selected Cunningham 33rd overall out of Villanova in the 2009 NBA draft.”

Wolves must be really sticking it to Portland. Cunningham was a Portland draft pick. LOL

    Why Grizzlies?

Replacing OJ with Ellington. Wayne is a much better shooter anyway.

So what….. Where is dwight Howard going????

^No one cares where Dwight Howard going. Hopefully he gets traded to Deron Williams’ old team in Turkey

Max they have too many bigs with Speights, Gasol, Randolph and Arthur. Cunningham was unnecessary. But, they need shooting since they lost O.J. and don’t have a credible back up two guard. And they are hoping Selby can really handle the back up point duties.

I don’t know much about him (Cunningham), is this a good trade for Wolves?

I do know Ellington can shoot, he is good, not a starter by any means

Forgot bout Arthur there for a minute but if a big goes down they’re stuck with this 3 man rotation.

Not to late to cut Pargo or Selby on sign a big. They could bring Hamed Haddai if they wanted to. Hell I think they should I don’t think they need Pargo and Selby with Jared Bayless on the tema

I little trade like this hurt them last year when they gave up Vasquez for pondexter…… Smh

Good trade for Grizz. We had about four or five bigs, plus we needed shooting, and OJ wasn’t a shooter anyway.

    Earthshattering move!
