Andre Iguodala Looking for Extension from Denver Nuggets

All-star swingman Andre Iguodala, who was formally introduced as a Denver Nugget on Thursday, said he wants to be in Denver for a long time. Iguodala is under contract for next season, but has a player option for 2013-14, creating a sense of urgency in Denver’s front office. Via the AP:  “‘We weren’t coming into this thinking this will be a one-year deal,’ Iguodala said. ‘… This is definitely a place that I can see myself for more than just a year or two.’ Ujiri said he’ll work on an extension this upcoming season for the defensive-minded star who helped the U.S. win the gold medal at the London Olympics. Iguodala said he sought out Carmelo Anthony while in London to ask him about Denver and coach George Karl. ‘He said I would be a perfect fit for Coach Karl. We two would really gel together,’ Iguodala recounted.”

Andre Iguodala wants a proposal on the first date.

Sounds like he’s ready for a payday. It’s all chatter. But, he does fit in nicely in their system.

Good way to get the Denver Fans on his side. I would have loved to see him as a Raptor.

Do. It. Denver. If the Lakers could have found some way to acquire Iggy too ,though near impossible, the ring would be an absolute lock this year for them.

I definitely think in the next 1-3 years this team could grow into something very special, maybe even as good as the 2004 Pistons. That all depends though on the development of Ty Lawson, Danillo, Faried, McGee and Chandler. Chandler and Danillo likely won’t get much better, but if Faried could develop some moves to go with his insane energy, if McGee can use his amazing athleticism and stop being such a dumass and if Ty Lawson can become one of the best points in the leauge, they can def give the Heat, Thunder, Bulls whoever a run for their money in the long run

i see mcgee as the big x factor for this team, if he takes the next step, denver could be top 4 in the west

Lawson, Iggy, Chandler, Faried, McGee is an exceptional starting lineup.

This is a great pickup for the Nuggets. They should definitely give him that extension!

I can’t think of a starting line-up that’s more athletic off the top of my head.

Caboose, idk if that’s who they will start though. — If i were them, I’d go, Lawson, Iguodala, Gallinari, Chandler, McGee — that starting lineup can’t spread the floor and use their speed without Gallinari. Other than fast breaks, but just in general. To keep the offense open, I think Gallinari should be starting. And Chandler makes a scary 4 against a lot of teams. At least, that’s what I would do if I was George Karl.

^yeah, gallo will def start. the 4 spot is the ?. go small with chandler with faried of the bench as an energy guy. or start faried in order to be stronger on the boards

If was Iggy I would not look for an extension, because its a long jam with small forwards on that team. Go put up numbers, then leave and decide your own fate.

  • Sean

@the seed he’s starting at sg he’s gonna get his mins and everything what are you talking about?

  • Bernie

The seed just wants the least amount of competition for the la Kobe’s. The thunder and the nuggets is too much to handle

Nuggets vs. Spurs first round matchup??????

Iguodala is a solid rebounder, no need to start Faried if that’s your primary concern.

  • Basketball_iQ

I initially thought Faried should start bc of energy & rebounding & he almost deserves to bc of his progression last season… Chandler/Danillo 3/4 combo would create hella problems. But having faried &mcgee on the floor at the same time would just as potent on the defensive end which I think george karl is more inclined to lean towards.imo tough decision to make but that’s the kind of problems you love to have as a coach, good problems.
