Byron Scott Very Excited About CJ Miles

Seven-year NBA veteran CJ Miles, who was picked up by the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer, is still a realtive unknown in NBA circles. People know Miles’ name, sure, but no one really knows how good he can be. Entering the League straight out of high school, Miles played a reserve role in Utah for the past seven seasons. Well, Cavs coach Byron Scott says Miles has only shown us the half of it. Via Ohio.com: “’I just thought he has so much left in him basketball-wise and it’s really untapped,’ Cavs coach Byron Scott said Tuesday at the team’s charity golf outing at Firestone Country Club. ‘There are so many things he can do on a basketball court. I thought he’d be a great fit for us.’ Scott said he was just being honest, but it was the coach’s sales pitch that instantly won over Miles, who signed for two years and $4 million in free agency. Miles is not a golfer, but attended the charity event Tuesday because it was his first opportunity to really make a public appearance as a member of the Cavs. ’My thing coming into the summer wasn’t about money, it was about the best basketball situation,’ he said. ‘I think a lot of people feel like I am who I’m going to be, which I don’t believe is true and obviously the organization feels the same way.’”

Not good to see comments Jazz is more excited. Ugh! That’s what we heard with the Casspi/JJ Hickson trade.

How many times did I have to read about how “excited” Scott and Chris Grant were about acquiring the horrific Omri Casspi. The wimp local media up there will spread any and all fertilizer if it serves the franchise’s purpose, they’ll do anything they’re asked or told.

Miles sucks. A borderline NBA talent that loves to jack up shots. He’ll fit in perfectly with the rest of that awful squad. If Cleveland played in the West, they wouldn’t win 15 games.

What do u mean? Atleast in cleveland he will start and shut u up, if u wanna talk about jack up shots then talk about russell westbrook

I had CJ Miles on NBALive a few years back and he came into his own….
…surely there is some potential there….? I’m thinking he could turn into Byron Russell’s ruddy little brother…??

I’m pretty curious to see how this goes down, I like Miles, and I think he wasn’t really give a fair chance in Utah. Hopefully he can be what the Cavs are looking for at the 2 or 3 spot.

CJ Miles is retarded bad. Glad to see him leave Utah. Brrrrrick!

Maybe we will have a better chance to grow. Thats all they will be really looking for. But really its Waiters they want to groom.

Not sure what to think about CJ. He didnt get a lot of burn last year, with coaching clashes. But he can play. Problem he’s just not ‘great’ at anything. I guess we’ll see, if he gets 30mpg.

CJ talent lies in scoring, not much else. Sure hes still got room to improve, but honestly who doesnt? In the NBA everyones got potential. Just didnt see enough of his ‘flashes’ of potential in Utah for anyone to be excited about him now. I think this move is more about solidifying Waiters as the future at the 2-spot.
