CJ Miles to Sign With the Cleveland Cavaliers

Despite overtures from the Lakers, Mavs, Rockets and Bucks, free agent CJ Miles chose the Cavs. According to the Salt Lake Tribune: “Miles is expected to sign a two-year deal with Cleveland and compete for a starting spot during the 2012-13 season. Miles, 25, drew interest from several teams during free agency, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas, Milwaukee and Houston. His growing bond with Cavaliers coach Byron Scott and the opportunity Cleveland presented him heavily factored into his decision. ‘He’s so happy,’ the source said. The 6-foot-6, 222-pound Miles averaged 8.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists for Utah from 2005-12, playing in 389 games (159 starts). His best season was 2010-11, when he set career highs in average points (12.8), rebounds (3.3) and minutes (25.2). Miles is expected to team with 2011-12 NBA rookie of the year Kyrie Irving in Cleveland’s backcourt, while playing alongside young athletes such as Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller.”

I can understand this, they have a good young core now and could compete die the 8 spot in the east if they add a couple more role players.

The lakers want everyone, lets face it the lakers arent going to win a title anytime soon. They dont wanna give away bynum, bryant is getting up there in the age group, gasol wants out, they dont gotta good bench, the west is too competitive , and the east is only getting better. But anyways great pick up for the cavs, they should defintely get that 7th or 8th spot in the east. The future is lookin bright..

good job ,good effort ,he deserves a better contract than what the lakers had to offer ,i remember this guy back in his rookie&sophomore season guarding kobe very effective and his jumper /range/form is improved as well, irving gotta be happy now

@ Marcel..the Heat want “everyone” as well. The Lakers are ready to give up Bynum for Howard but the Cavs want Drew to sign an extension with them before they do the deal. Gasol is glad to be out of the trade rumors trust me. Just like to ramble I guess. Only about a third of the stuff you said is true

  • Marcel

Except the heat dont have any trade rumors or anything like that because there winning
