New Orleans Hornets Sign Brian Roberts

The New Orleans Hornets have signed 26-year-old guard Brian Roberts. Roberts has played professionally in Germany and Israel, and appeared in all five Las Vegas Summer League games for the Hornets, averaging 13.8 points, 2.2 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game. Via CBSSports.com: “Roberts, 26, arrives in the Big Easy after spending three seasons playing professionally in Germany with Brose Baskets Bamberg. There, Roberts won three consecutive German league titles. Prior to that, Roberts played professionally in Israel. Roberts joins a backcourt that includes the newly re-signed Eric Gordon, 2012 Lottery pick Austin Rivers, Greivis Vasquez, and Xavier Henry. Back in July, Henry underwent minor knee surgery while Rivers underwent minor ankle surgery.”

I remember seeing him the summer league and thinking he’s good, but now looking at his resume…I think the Horents got a steal here. I’ll admit that I’ll only watch Hornets games to see AD, Ryan Anderson, and Eric Gordon, but I would love to see how this guy fits into their system.
