Yi Jianlian Could Miss NBA Season With MCL Strain

Free agent forward Yi Jianlian, who played with the Dallas Mavericks this past season, injured his knee during the London Olympics. The diagnosis from that knee injury has surfaced, and unfortunately, it doesn’t look good—Yi suffered an MCL strain, which could keep him out for the entire 2012 season.

Michael Finely: I am sure we can find a way to make up his one point per game.

Damn… never want to hear about these type of injuries on anyone.

How convenient. Since when does an MCL strain keep a guy out an entire year? Yi balled at the Olympics and this is just China reclaiming what’s theirs. He’ll probably never wear another NBA uniform again.

Yi could also miss NBA Season because he is Yi. But then again, as one who has experience these kind of injuries, it just sucks to here this kind of news. Get well soon.

He was in his usual early tournament beast mode when the Olympics began, same as in Beijing but there might be some truth to this. Slowed down as more games were played, which resulted in higher margins in China’s losses.
He did have a knee injury all last season, played with a massive brace for a while, must have aggravated it.
