Joakim Noah Trained With Kareem Abdul-Jabbar This Summer

Kudos to Joakim Noah for taking this important step, and getting tutelage from one of the best to ever do it. Here’s to hoping there’s extensive footage of Kareem trying to teach Joakim the sky hook. Per the Boston Globe (via PBT): “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar @kaj33 tells Globe he worked with #bulls C Joakim Noah this summer & expects him to have expanded post game this season.”

This would be great for his offensive development – but I honestly think a big part of his game would be getting featured more. When he has the confidence or green light to take a jumper or a lefty hook, it’s pretty decent. Then, he doesn’t really shoot for months. Maybe with DRose being out he can get that going early on.

Noah is of my favorite big guy in the L, let’s see how his season goes (w/o Rose). But I still hope the Bulls will sign Malcolm Thomas..

Did he taught him to skyhook when shooting freethrows?? Beause his shooting form is soooo darn..nevermind…

Him learning the skyhook is impossible. It’s not something Kareem learnt in one year. Hell, it forced him to change and adapt his normal shooting motion. Pau or Dirk would’ve been really unstoppable if they learnt this move earlier in their career………Oh well, what I expect is better positioning and better recognition of passing lanes from Noah this upcoming season.

If he can get up to 18 a night and continue improving his defensive and passing abilities, we should remain a top 5 team in the east. A front line of noah, deng and (gulp) boozer isn’t that bad when all parties is healthy and playing well. Tom is a great coach too
