John Wall Out 8 Weeks With Knee Injury

John Wall is out eight weeks due to “early stages of a stress injury to his left patella.” Wall will likely be out until late November, at the earliest, but no surgery will be required. Per Wizards press release:

Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that guard John Wall will miss approximately eight weeks after being diagnosed with the early stages of a stress injury to his left patella. No surgery will be necessary, and his rehab will begin immediately.

“My teammates and I are all excited to build on the improvement we made at the end of last season, and I know they will continue to make great progress while I get through this setback,” said Wall. “I will work extremely hard to make sure I get back as soon as possible so I can re-join them and help our team continue to improve.”

Wall was examined yesterday in New York by orthopedic specialist Dr. David Altchek after experiencing discomfort in his left knee and underwent an MRI that revealed the early stages of a non-traumatic stress injury.

Lol I forgot about Steve Francis. Good comparison, John Wall is definately similar. Just a little quicker.

Oh. I thought they meant the patellar tendon. Damn. Nigger.

Yeah, it’s just that he hasn’t matured yet. He’s too busy chasing the fame. You’ll see him with celebrities always and talking about he’ll be an Allstar every year. He needs to stop it and grow up.

well yes, people caring just about pro-am games are the type of people becoming nba starters… he is a promising nba prospect and wouldnt be the first nba star struggling early on in his carreer. ever realized the roster around him? even if his level of play would stay like this would make him anything but a bust. the only joke out here are you man. people with this cheap talk about athletes are just the ones not knowing what the fuck they are talking about. chump

come on guys, let the kid play in pro ams. other guys do sight seeing in their time off. let the young players enjoy being superior above a level they just rose above not too long ago and giving their hometown community something to cheer (or in this case to boo lol). i dont really think that he or any other nba player would take these games as “training” or skip work-out time for this. only fucked up thing would be if theyd get hurt in these games, but so far there is no connection between a pro am game and this injury.

    YOU STILL MAD? LOL <3

I had a similar injury to my right tibia, it’s just something that happens over time if you’re using your body in a way that puts unusual stress on the bones, certain muscle imbalances, overuse and faulty biomechanics are also to blame. Honestly it doesn’t surprise me that he’s got one of these injuries, Reebok’s shoes are so high off the ground your foot doesn’t get enough feedback to be stable and controlled. Zigtech in particular is awful for your knees because you’re always leaning forward, it’s like running downhill all the time, it puts unnecessary stress on your knees.

lol I have to be optimistic as a true Wizards fan. I still expect a big year from Wall and to be honest besides the Heat, celtics, knicks, and nets those other four playoff spots are up for grabs.

Kyrie looks more focused on the court & he’s not afraid of being challenged. i even seen some games where he’s had to close em out. i think kyrie has more focus.

  • Teilhard Gentillon

    Get well man!

  • Datkid

    no, i don’t care you’re just annoying

  • Datkid

When has John Wall ever looked afraid of being challenged? lmao. but whatever bro, it’s your opinion.

  • Datkid

    to steve francis?? smh

i ain’t even saying dude can’t shine… what i am saying is.. Wall being a GRADE A sidekick would suit him better… well i guess we’ll have to see how much longer it takes Wall to ‘develop’

  • Datkid

i get what you’re saying… I just disagree. You see a sidekick. I see a perennial all-star and mvp candidate trapped with terrible teammates (a la lebron, but worse) in a terrible incompetent organization that refuses to help him(which IMO makes his situation worse than lebron’s cleave land is at least semi-competent). When and if John Wall leaves the wizards, as everybody w/ talent does, and goes to somebody who’s even remotely competent you’ll see the 2nd best guard to come out of NC just UNLEASHED upon the NBA.. I promise.
