Spurs to Work Out Forward Japeth Aguilar

The San Antonio Spurs will work out former Philippine Basketball Association No. 1 draft pick Japeth Aguilar. Aguilar is a 6-9 power forward who played two years at Western Kentucky before leaving for the PBA in 2009. Via ProjectSpurs.com: “Aguilar has been working out for several D-League teams and so far, the criticism hasn’t been completely positive. But for Japeth, he wants to become the first Filipino to make it into the NBA. Japeth’s contract with his current team in the PBA has expired but he will be a long-shot to making it with the Spurs or the NBA. Though the Spurs do need size, they need a big that is physical, and a bit more established in the NBA unlike Aguilar.”

no offense but this guy is 6’9 and nothing else. Needs to gain weight too.

Philippines represent! Hahaha. I’d rather have Jimmy Alapag as the first Filipino in the league (even though he’s half American). The dude was even scouted by Kobe when he went here!

Man, dude wasn’t worth his salt playing in the PBA. He’s brittle as candy glass. Needs to toughen up so he won’t rely on hoistin’ those long shots where he can go to the hole in the first place. Future D-Leaguer prolly

he cant play PF with his weight! he should learn how to play SF and improve his shooting. I dont think he’ll get that last spot but, its not the end of the world. D-league will prepare him and will help him reach the NBA

Sa PBA nga, di sya umubra..sa Gilas naman, di xa binababad,..C Wang Zhizhi at Yi Jianlian nga eh mas shooter at mas may laro sa kanya, di nga naka epekto sa NBA sya p kya?n wlang alam kundi dumakdak…di marunong mag dribble…Ang 6’9″ sa nba ay kadalasang SF/PF, w/c is dominated by black americans who are more freakishly athletic than japeth..Talk N Text bangko nga yan eh…Subukan mo muna galing mo kay Junmar Fajardo
