Detroit Pistons to Face New York Knicks in London, England

The Knicks and Pistons will be crossing the pond early in the new year. The regular season tilt will take place in London, England. Per the Detroit Free Press: “The Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks will play Jan. 17 in London, the league announced today. The game previously had been designated for international play, but the site wasn’t immediately disclosed. This will be the Pistons’ first game in Europe. The O2 arena in London will host its seventh NBA game — including four exhibitions — since 2007. […] ‘London was the epicenter of global sports this summer, and the Olympics were a tremendous showcase for basketball,’ NBA commissioner David Stern said in a released statement. ‘Playing our third regular-season game in the city in three years and having historic franchises like the Knicks and Pistons serve as our ambassadors provide extraordinary opportunities to further the game’s growth and development in the UK and throughout Europe.’”

Bangers & Mash! I heard someone talking about basketball in london being at the same stage as futbol is in the USA…. Its getting more and more popular w/ the mainstream as ppl understand the dynamics of the game better.

david stern, bring the NBA to Australia !!!!!!!!!

The thing I don’t think you appreciate is that followers of basketball from the entirety of the UK will flock to watch this, it will be far above the standard of the basketball we see over here (even if it is the pistons and kicks). I for one live nowhere near london and nor do I follow either of these teams but I will definitely look to aquire a ticket for this.

Man your the most ignorant piece of shit ive ever seen in my life… you should be ashamed of yourself, seriously..

Ignorant? Cause I have opinions? That’s funny coming from someone so arrogant. I didn’t know I was ignorant though, guess me having spent most my life helping people in poverty made me ignorant. But it’s my fault for having opinions.

Save your breath there’s no way in the world I would ever believe that from somebody who would shun other children from wanting to watch the NBA live in different parts of the world, like that could be some little boy in London’s dream.. you actually disgust me.

Because its important to watch it live? There’s never been a live match in Africa(to my knowledge) yet there’s plenty of stars from Africa. You sound stupid. Trying hard as hell to act like I’m the ignorant one. I guess first world countries deserve the “live games” because hey people who aren’t poor deserve to watch live cause TV isn’t enough.

    Just shut up lol.
