Kobe Bryant to Miss Remainder of Preseason With Injured Right Foot

In addition to tonight’s game against the Clippers, the Lakers will hold Kobe Bryant out for the final two preseason games. This will give Bryant’s right foot a chance to heal. Per the LA Daily News: “Bryant will sit out of the team’s final two exhibition games because of a bruised and strained right foot. The Lakers play the Clippers tonight at Staples Center and then travel to San Diego where they will go against the Sacramento Kings Thursday in their final exhibition. ‘You’d love to have everybody for every single game but that’s part of the preseason and part of the regular season,’ Lakers Coach Mike Brown said. ‘We just have to play with who’s available.’ […] Bryant suffered the injury when he tripped over the foot of Sacramento forward Thomas Robinson while cutting through the lane with about 3:25 left in the third quarter of Sunday’s exhibition against the Kings. Bryant, who scored 21 points in the Lakers’ 99-92 loss, still stayed in the game. Bryant’s absence coincides with other injuries. Lakers center Dwight Howard participated in morning shootaround, but Brown said it’s not definitive whether he play sit out tonight to rest his back after appearing in his game since having surgery in April. Brown said Lakers forward Jordan Hill will ‘probably play’ in his first preseason game since suffering a herniated disk Oct. 7 against Golden State in Fresno. Lakers forward Metta World Peace dislocated the middle finger of his right hand, though he plans to scrap the bandage he’s worn the past two days during practice.”
